Cottage could do with some owner input and and tlc as some parts rather tired. Perhaps remove old storage heater from bedroom wardrobe? Heating could be a problem if not wanting, for whatever reason, to use the wood-burner. And don't forget the flykiller!! Reviewed by BeverlyJun 2022 "A lovely stay with family." Quiet location with stunning views. Heating wasn't the best. Heating was on automatically throughout the day but wasn't on in the evenings when it needed it. Some storage heaters didn't work. Kitchen was tired and the drawers when opened were broken. Reviewed by KatieApr 2022 "Loved the cottage which was in a beautiful setting." With the weather not being nice we felt the cottage was cold with the storage heaters not being up to the job. The kitchen needed some work doing in it with drawer units falling apart and one cupboard door not shutting. In one of the bedrooms upstairs the radiator was only held up by one fixing. Also when we needed showers in the evening the hot water didnt last long.We are pensioners and the TV's were a problem to us as well as we didnt realise that we couldn't watch normal television channels on them without streaming which was beyond us. If it hadn't of been for our children staying with us and connecting their laptop to the TV in the lounge we wouldn't have watched normal televion channels at all. In lots of ways we loved the cottage and it's position but feel letdown. Reviewed by NigelApr 2022 "Fantastic cottage in a beautiful setting." So peaceful and quiet. Lovely area with lots of fell walking and beach walking nearby. Would highly recommend this place. We will return as soon as we can. Set in a beautiful rural location but not to far from Ulverston town and all our needs. So many sights to see, we really didn't want to leave felt so at home. The log burner was great to come home to after a good day out, bed was lovely and comfy. We really couldn't fault anything. Sykes cottages are really good too, so easy to book with and give you full information on the property , will definitely be using again so thank you to Sykes cottages. 10 out of 10. Reviewed by JulieNov 2021 "Mossdale Cottage is a lovely cottage not too far from Ulverston, it was a very spacious dwelling with everything you need to make a stay in the lakes a pleasant one, it was nice to sit and watch the pheasants walking across the garden in the morning, the lanes to get to the cottage are a bit agricultural but passable, but you have great access to explore the Lake District from a nice comfortable home." Reviewed by GaryOct 2021 "Very comfortable, spacious house in a great location." We loved that the coast/estuary was a short walk away. Generally we enjoyed our stay. A few things could have made it even better, e.g. the water was tepid so no hot showers or baths and having to buy our own toilet paper, kindling and fire lighters. The large pond in the garden is overgrown and could be a hazard for small children. On a positive note we had a great holiday and would come back to Mossdale Cottage. That's our only slight criticism, otherwise, excellent location, good condition, clean cottage! Reviewed by TomJun 2021 "What a beautiful place in the middle of nowhere but still close to Ulverston." The Lakes were only half an hour away tops. Such a wonderful area. The house is very well equipped. A walk up to the Hoad monument gave us great views over the surroundings. Farmers in the town centre is a great spot for either lunch or dinner. Had a fantastic time. Can’t fault the place. Lucky find.
