Nothing has been overlooked. The sitting room was so cozy with the log burner. Beds cozy & comfortable & the shower was the most powerful I've ever used. The owners are very passionate about their cottage. They even put a Christmas tree & decorations up with presents for us & the dogs. We had a slight problem that was dealt with immediately. There are lovely walks very locally. The village pub is very friendly & serves lovely food. A great holiday.

  • "This cottage is a gem in the Dales."

Everything you could ask of a holiday cottage. It's warm, welcoming and very comfortable. The kitchen is really well equipped, the living room cosy and the log burner a real bonus. The TV has lots of channels and the DVD collection is brilliant to pass the time if the weather too bad for walking! WIFI is excellent. Shower powerful and hot water every time. Bed in master bedroom comfortable with lovely linen. Lots of walks straight from the door and our 2 dogs loved it. The village pub was in the process of a new owner taking over so difficult to give an opinion but we did really like the Farmer's Arms in Muker. Friendly Landlord and delicious takeaway food. Fish & chips from the visiting van a must on Friday evenings, very yummy. All in all a lovely week in the Dales. Jane & Kevin are very responsive owners and make it clear they want you to have a good holiday. Thank you!!

Lovely view from the cottage, great centre for both drives and walking. All the facilities at the cottage were very satisfactory - provision of cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, oven, wi-fi, and television. Could not have been made more welcome: real attention to detail. Initially mildly confused by parking arrangements but parking ion the green dn in the village car park sorted that issue out.

Hosts Jayne and Kevin were extremely helpful. Our only concern was that the beautiful little enclosed garden, lovely to sit in and have breakfast or glass of wine, but was not secure enough for our Labrador Luna and so had to be on a lead at all times.

The supporting information was superb, including well informed local information. The cottage was well equiped, everything was on hand and a great welcome pack. The sitting area out to the front of the cottage, even in April, was superb. Walking locally was brilliant and the local pub is superb at the end of a walk. The owners really give the extra bit and i think really want you to enjoy their cottage, and we certainly did, including the dogs.........

The cottage had everything you could possibly think of for a holiday home. Full information on area and cottage waiting on kitchen table and a welcome surprise. We had a wonderful week in this cosy and comfortable cottage. Village is ideal for a walking base or to explore any of the dales. Peace and quiet. Although we knew the area there was more to discover without having to travel very far. Local people very friendly. Our holiday was end of March and so the season hadn't started. Some places were not yet open but this did not spoil anything, there is still plenty to see and do out of season. Just bring your walking boots or just sit and breathe the sweet air.

We had a lovely friendly e-mail from the owners before we arrived giving us lots of additional information. It was such a treat to arrive there - fairy lights outside and a christmas tree in the lounge - very festive, especially as it was snowing!! The cottage really does have everything you need and Jayne & Kevin seem to have thought of everything. We really didn't want to come home. There are so many walks from the doorstep, including welcoming pubs en route for lunch - The Punch Bowl in Low Row and The Farmers Arms in Muker are excellent. We also went to Hawes and did a walk there, stopping at Simonstone Hall for lunch. We also enjoyed The Kings Head in Gunnerside for fabulous evening meals. All welcome dogs (we have 2 Golden Retrievers) and are used by the locals who were very friendly. We had a fabulous holiday and would definitely return.

It's also very close to the local pub, but we didn't have chance to visit as we were too busy walking our dog. The only slight downside was the lack of parking outside the house (we parked in the village carpark) and the shower which only had enough hot water for two very quick showers. These are only slight niggles and not enough to put us off visiting again.

The view from the front patio was amazing! We say in the early evenings watching the light change over the hills opposite the cottage - before heading over the green to the very friendly local pub. Good food, beer and excellent company . The walks with their breathtaking views covered all areas of abilities so as a fairweather, lightweight walker that I am!. I still saw amazing waterfalls, hilltops and valleys I'd hoped I would. We loved it!. Already thinking of an autumn break so we could use the log burner in the evening,we had glorious sunshine most of our week too so we even came back with a suntan!. Thank you
