"I wanted a complete break from city living and that is totally what I got!"
The cottage was clean and just the right size, my son and his partner stayed the first weekend and there was plenty of room for us all. The location was fabulous for many treks around the locale, we traversed the Tolkien trail, visited the abbey ruins and even conquered Pendle Hill... I also rested up on rainy days in total peace and quiet entertained only by the goats out front and the little cat who decided to visit in the garden every day.
All in all a fabulous break, and would definitely return.

"The owners were friendly and helpful."
Farm yard animals added interest to our stay. Farm eggs which were given to us were delicious.
Great location. Really nice bike rides & walks. The view to Pendle Hill was enjoyable.
First time we visited Lancashire and it won't be the last.

"Shower - The base of the shower is very slippy when soap is washed off ones body."
The shower base should be less smooth. An electric shower is very difficult when it comes to temperature control of the water, it is therefore no different in this cottage. Some way of keeping the shower water within the confines of the shower area needs to be found.
Wifi - Throughout our 3 week stay the wifi signal was hit and miss, in other words more off than on.
No guidance notes regarding any electrical appliance were seen, and there does need to be help notes available to assist visitors.
We liked many other aspects of our stay in the cottage.
Thanks to Christine and John for their help.

"Lovely situation, friendly owners."
Generally comfortable, although surprised that given the relatively new age of the cottage there were a number of niggles which needed addressing -doors not closing, cupboard doors not closing properly ( owner-'give it a kick'!), upstairs loo not flushing properly. Inside waste-bin not emptied, no information pack for visitors ( fortunately we knew the area well), no obvious fire-extinguisher.
However these are minor issues which were more than made up for by the location, and the friendly owners-and animals( including the house-cat, despite the 'no pets' rule!! didn't bother us, even when it pinched one of the beds!
Owners flexible about arrival/departure times, which is always welcome after a long journey. Recommended-as is the local pub down the road for excellent meals.

The house we rented for the night was very clean and comfortable but we would have liked an earlier check-in and later check out , we felt that 3pm - 10am wasn’t enough time for us for the price we paid
