“Lovely place we all thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would definitely book again”

The property

This charming wooden shepherd’s hut is situated next door to the owner’s home, just 1 mile from Britain’s favourite tourist destination of Hadrian’s Wall. Set on the edge of the town of Haltwhistle, this lovely setting is ideal for a couple looking for a romantic break away or friends or family members to enjoy a get together.

The hut has four steps up to the stable door which can be left half open to let in the sunshine and fresh air.

The interior has been well thought out to provide all you need for a countryside break with comfortable seating and a warming woodburner.

There is also little kitchenette, dining table and folding chairs and a lovely shower room.

What could be nicer after a long days sightseeing than lighting your own cute woodburner, pouring your favourite tipple and curling up in your own cosy Shepherd’s Hut.

Outside there is a small decked area with chairs overlooking the shared garden where you can relax and breathe in the fresh countryside air.

A short drive from your hut will take you to Hadrians Wall or why not pop along to Haltwhistle for a bite to eat and a pint.

In an excellent location for heading East to the Heritage coast or West to the Lakes, this Shepherd’s Hut is the perfect destination for that long awaited rural break. Note: This property is on the same site as refs 961437 and 961439, together they sleep 8.

About the location

Hexham 17 miles.

Known as the 'Centre of Britain', this small market town is a great place from which to explore both Northumberland and Cumbria. Haltwhistle boasts a good range of shops and pubs - one of which, The Black Bull, is a real ale pub serving good food! There is an excellent leisure centre with heated open air swimming pool and cycle hire in the town, with pony trekking nearby. One of the best preserved stretches of Hadrian's Wall is only a mile to the north with various museums, forts and milecastles to be seen. There is even an ongoing 'dig' at the nearby site of Vindolanda. This truly is magnificent walking, riding and cycling country, with the Pennine Way and various bridleways and cycle routes passing rivers, forests, castles and of course, Hadrian's Wall. Visitors will enjoy this location in all weather and all seasons – a regular train and bus service from the town to Newcastle, The Metro Centre and Carlisle, means that you can leave the car behind and enjoy!
