  • "Beautiful cottage in an idylic setting."

Our host Nicki was vety helpful came to our assistance very quickly when neeeded. A gazeebo cover to the hot tub would be ideal for the time of year we visited and a grounf floor toilet would have been good. The above are just suggestions it ddid not have s impact on our stay. We will definnitely visit again.

  • "Moody House Farm was a lovely property and well equipt."

Although we had 10 people in together we all had our own space aswell if we wished . It was lovely having the horses come up to the fence and watch the squirrel running around. The garden was immaculate and safe for the dogs to run around. Thank you for the welcome treats .Walks to the left of property is wood's with different tracks to take. Straight down the road on the right was a lovely walk by the resovouir. Shops 5 mins in car .Not forgetting the summer house to sit in when it got cooler. The hot tub was large and relaxing. Great views from the property aswell. We had a day out at Southport about 40 mins away. Like it has been mentioned before a downstairs toilet would be a great addition especially for older or younger children. But had a great stay thank you.

  • "Gorgeous cottage, beautiful and peaceful surroundings."

Extremely well equipped, as it should be for the price. Ample space for a large family who could split the cost and you won't want to spend money going out for meals as its so nice to make meals and eat at the cottage. The only small downside is the lack of a downstairs loo, otherwise it's 10 out of 10 recommendation.

The house had everything we needed and the gardens are lovely! It was a full house with three generations of family from across Canada and the US able to stay together. But even with 10 of us the house had plenty of room to spread out.

  • "The listing does not do the property justice."

Lovely and spacious with lots of space for us all inside and out. Quirky aspects and spectacular views. Lots of walks from the cottage. Although the garden is enclosed, it is not necessarily secure, as we found out. Hot tub and pool room a great hit. The family had a great time for our celebrations.

  • "A wonderful house !"

We live quite close by but hadn’t realised how gorgeous the countryside is around the farmhouse . The gardens are beautiful and so well maintained. We are of an age where mattresses are important ! Apart from the double bedroom at the back of the house above the hall, the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped. The pool table was a great hit with all ages of our family. Just a few suggestions. We had very watchful adults around our toddlers, however the windows upstairs are set attractively low down as per the age of the house and we felt there could be more secure locks .The second living room was hardly used. What is more important is that there is only room for 4/5 adults on the sofa in the main living room. If one has rented the house to be with family it means that if 10 of you would like to sit together ,at least 5 have to spend the evening sitting on dining chairs. Things to do Great walks from the house ,yet only a few minutes drive into Chorley for provisions. Astley Hall , Heskin Hall , Samlesbury Hall , Hoghton Tower all interesting places within a short drive. Lots of family attractions nearby.Farm visits, cinemas, bowling etc. Best of all is the lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere with peaceful views. We will certainly book the house annually if we can!

  • "A beautiful, well- appointed cottage."

A lovely surprise to have a bottle of Prosecco and chocolates. I have never stayed in a cottage with such a well-equipped kitchen. The cottage was very cold on arrival and we struggled with the log burner initially but did manage to sort it. One of the radiators in the lounge needs bleeding- so this room was cold during our stay. A downstairs toilet would be a very useful addition.

Good Morning Lynne I'm really sorry you felt the cottage was cold on arrival and thankyou for letting me know about one radiator needing attention. We like all guests to have a comfortable stay in Moody so it was disappointing to hear it wasn't the correct temperature for you. We will be checking the overall room temperatures more thoroughly in future. regards Nicky Property Owner

The only small adjustment would be the radiator in the twin bedroom wasnt coming on but all the rest were but was no big deal!

  • "We had the best stay at the house."

Everything was spot on and just what we needed. The hot tub and pool table made it even more enjoyable. The only improvements I would say would be for the dining table to seat 10 as there was 10 of us and we brought a table in from outside so we could all eat together. My grandparents struggled to get up and down the stairs for the toilet and I think it was a slight let down without a downstairs toilet but this being said, we all had the best time. Perfect location and lovely break away. Thank you!

  • "We had a fantastic time at the house, it was equipped with everything you needed."

Bedding and towels were spotless, there was also lots of hot tub towels provided and the hot tub was great. There was plenty of room for us 7 adults 2 children and a large dog. Garden was beautiful the kids and dog had great fun my grandson set up his goals and had plenty of space to kick a ball around and they loved seeing the horses next to the fence. The summer house is lovely to use at nights has lights outside and inside. Would highly recommend. But as previously said by others about the low beams I found them quirky.

  • "Fantastic gardens, which were safe for the children and the dog."

We enjoyed the BBQ and there was plenty of seating in the garden. The hot tub was the best we’ve ever had on holiday and the hot-tub towels were really useful. The pool table was a great success. The beds were extremely comfortable and the kitchen was well-equipped but we would just have liked some bigger saucepans to cope with cooking for 9.

Beds were comfy, as were the sofas. There was plenty of kindling and logs to use for the log fire which we used once, which was warm & cosy. The hot tub was great and well used! The gardens are gorgeous and provided a great safe place for our dogs to run around. The house is in a lovely location with great views and a short drive into Chorley where there is plenty to do. Nicky, the owner left a welcome pack of Prosecco, chocolates, jelly beans dispenser and treats for our dogs, all of which were much appreciated. All in all an excellent holiday home - would highly recommend.

The garden was very secure for our little chihuahua, which was brilliant and meant we could relax when letting them into the garden. I was a great size for us to play ball with the dogs, they loved it too. We arrived to a welcome pack of goodies, which was very much appreciated. The hot tub was used quite a few times over the weekend, hot tub towels are provided. We had family join us for a meal, at one point we had 16 people in the house and it was plenary big enough. It was great having a pool table, we had great fun! Thank you Nicky

Chorley is a town in Lancashire, England, nestled close to Black Brook. Evidence has been discovered that human settlement has existed since the Bronze Age, though unconfirmed until the Middle Ages. Home of the Chorley cake, this thriving town offers a large number of independent shops and supermarkets for picking up those last-minute essentials, as well as some traditional pubs and restaurants for that fine dining experience.
