Basic things like, washing liquid, kitchen roll, foil or clingfilm

Thank you for your feedback. We take all comments on board. As the property is self catering, these things are not always provided. Thank you- The Lakelovers Owner Relations Team Property Owner

  • "Loved the hayloft, good for walking either into Windermere one way or Bo’ness the other way, could do with a fan as it’s very hot, also weeds at the front door not very welcoming, apart from that we loved it."

  • "After a long drive we arrived to find that the property had not been cleaned."

The main bin in the living room was full along with rubbish in the bathroom and bedroom bins. The bedding had not been replaced nor had the towels. There was washing up on the side. We were asked to vacate the premises do that cleaning could be arranged. The stay itself was pleasant. We would recommend that the TV is replaced as it has lines down the right side and across the bottom quarter of the screen. We would also recommend that the main settee is replaced as it offers no support at all. Premises is well suited to explore the South lakes area but we are not able to recommend it to others

We are glad you enjoyed your recent holiday but sorry to hear you were not completely happy with Hayloft. The cleaning was unfortunately a genuine mistake with our housekeeping department and we can only apologise for this. However we did offer £20 for refreshments whilst this oversight was remedied (which you refused) The apartment was ready for you to enjoy at 4.20 pm which is 20 minutes later than Lakelovers official check in time of 4.00 pm but again we apologise for this unfortunate mistake. As regards to the settee we have never received negative comments before but your feedback has been noted. The TV is under 2 years old and was in good working order for the previous guests so we can only assume it’s a recent fault. Property Owner

Some more loo roll would be nice and maybe some spray to clean kitchen surfaces.

  • "On the whole the accommodation was good, warm and roomy."

Location was excellent: easy parking and everywhere within reasonable walking distance. Comfortable bed. A good supply of crockery and glasses etc. A negative was that there is a velux window right above the bed, so when it rains during the night it is very noisy. Another visitor mentioned the launderette in their feedback. We did not have any problems at all and wouldn't have known we were above the launderette. Unfortunately we left an item at the property and the staff were very helpful in having it returned.

  • "The Hayloft was exactly what the pictures describe We had no problems with the Laundry place next door as in other reviews If you had any worries all you have to do is open the windows on the other side as there are plenty of windows to choose from."

The Hayloft was a really nice place to stay and close to all the amenities you could wish for.

  • "Great location and really comfy bed, though the blinds aren’t too effective if you fancy a lie in."

Suggestion to add an iron and a clothes maiden would be handy.

  • "Nobody informed us that property was joined on to a launderette which was noisy at times."

The bedding was certainly well below standard, ill fitting, wrong size duvet cover, certainly not fit for purpose and having no fastenings.Despite these few annoyances it was a lovely trendy apartment and we had a great time.

  • "Don’t get me wrong, this is a lovely loft apartment with good facilities and we enjoyed our stay in it."

Great location; quiet and handy for Windermere and Bowness. Slight negatives: Cleanliness was ok but there was a general feeling that it doesn’t get a thorough clean between stays; for example, when we moved the luggage chest to use as a coffee table, it was very clearly dirty around it. There are blinds on the roof windows, but they don’t actually block out any light. That’s fine in the main living area, but if the suns up at 0500hrs the bedroom is in daylight, particularly as there is a roof window directly above the bed. Star gazers may enjoy it, but there should be an option to blackout the room! TV aerial lead is too short; if the TV is pivoted to be viewed from the two seater, it pulls on the aerial cable and sometimes loses the connection. It’s not 5 star unless it’s perfect!

  • "We had a lovely 1 week stay at Hayloft in August."

It's a great place and a fab location. The road it's on is fairly quiet so there was always a space to park and it's only a short walk to the main area of Windermere. We stayed during a heatwave week and as it's an attic conversion it was pretty hot up there! However, the window above the bed is perfect so there's always a slight breeze at night. 100% recommend.

  • "The Hayloft is decorated and furnished to a high standard."

.Unfortunately the premises next door is a commercial laundrette. Working 7days a week from 7am -7pm. The laundry dryer ventilation system is aimed at the same level , to the sky lights at the hayloft ... The fibres and warm air , from the flues fill the hayloft, therefore you must close all skylights in the property, not ideal, when the outside temperature is 29 degrees. With no balcony or outside area the hayloft is very restrictive .

Thank you for taking the time to offer feedback after your recent stay at Hayloft. We are glad to hear you had a lovely week in the Lakes. The private launderette next door is a fledgling business and was unaware their extractors were interfering with Hayloft’s customers enjoyment. Once it was brought to their attention they kindly repositioned them and fitted silencers on them to remove any disturbance they may have caused. The launderette is open normal working hours of 9am – 6pm. The property location means it has no outdoor space as per the website. Property Owner

  • "Directions to property need updating."

No Lakelovers office next door and fireplace shop now a laundry. Makes it less easy to spot the front door. The laundry that is now next door is quite obtrusive. The machines start between 8 and 9 everyday until the evening and can be heard in the hayloft. If the skylights on that side of the property are left open, then the warm air and fluff from the vents gets blown in. This reduces the”luxury “ feel of the apartment and meant we could not leave them open during what was thankfully a very hot week. A small coffee table would be handy as would a clothes horse as the washing machine has no drying function (that I could see). No instructions on rubbish or recycling so brought the plastic home.

Thank you for taking the time to give feedback on your recent stay at Hayloft. We are glad to hear you had a wonderful stay and rated it 4/5. We thank you for your comments, your feedback helps us to make improvements where needed. We have looked at the directions today and amended them slightly to make them more direct. The Lakelovers Maintenance/Housekeeping office which used to be located next door has moved to Ambleside and a private launderette is now in place of Cumbria Fireplaces and they are open business hours 9am – 6pm. We are sorry this change in business next door affected your stay at Hayloft. Hayloft does not have a dryer for space reasons however a drying horse is stored in the cupboard next to the TV in the property, we are sorry you could not locate this. There is also no recycling at Hayloft, however for future reference Booths Supermarket collects Plastic, Cardboard and Paper Recycling and in Broad Street Car Park in Windermere they collect glass, cans, paper and cardboard. Thanks again for your comments and we hope we can welcome you back to the lakes in the future Property Owner

It was perfect for what we wanted - a cosy cottage for two within walking distance of the shops and pubs / bars etc. in Windermere. Woodburning stove very good. Bed very comfortable. Excellent bath and shower. We'll definitely consider coming back to the Hayloft in the future. Thank you. Nb. thanks to Karl and your services team who managed to open a broken washing machine on the day of our departure and retrieve our clothes which were still in the machine! The guys came over very quickly. Much appreciated.

The property

Make hay in the South Lakes at any time of year!

With all the traditional romance of a rustic Lakeland barn but all the sleek style of a contemporary loft apartment, Hayloft has really nailed down the 'idyllic Lakeland hideaway for two' thing!

An enviable position in easy walking distance of both Windermere village and Bowness means this high-quality apartment is just the ticket for two of our discerning Lakelovers! The convenience of the location is a real blessing for those wanting to discover the vibrance of Lake District village life.

After a night exploring the restaurants, stylish bars and night-spots of Bowness, stroll along to Homeground Cafe & Kitchen in Windermere to enjoy a mouth-watering brunch and quality coffee, being sure to leave room for one of their tasty cakes.

This is one of many tearooms and eateries just a short wander from your little nest, and you also have the excellent groceries of Booths supermarket available locally to help you rustle up your own fare in the superb open-plan kitchen. Oak beams, comfortable furnishings, and a wood-burning stove make cosying up in Hayloft a real pleasure.

This is certainly one of our most companionable luxury cottages in Windermere.

You even have separate little space aside from the main living-area in which to curl up with a good book.

Skylights give a real feeling of space here, and also let you gaze up at the stars, a truly lovely thing to do on clear winter nights with the warmth of the fire keeping you toasty!

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.
