"En-suite bathroom was not very clean, toilet had stains toilet pan was filthy don’t know when it was last cleaned ."
Shower drain was dirty with the shower silver plug was filthy also . Rail outside back door very unstable my husband almost fell when he first used it . Whilst sitting in the back garden at 8.50pm on Monday evening watching a very short video clip that had music we were told by the neighbour in the right hand side of the house to “ keep the bloody noise down as not everybody on holiday some people have to work”!!!! We were anything but noisy !! Yet we did hear her dog howling and barking on a morning !!! Overall not a great experience at this property and wouldn’t stay again .
Thank you for your feedback and I am very sorry that your experience was not to the normal high standards we expect. I have raised the cleaning issue with Lakelovers and asked them to investigate why this happened. We have never had any cleaning complaints before and I'm sure we won't have any more going forward. I have also asked maintenance to investigate and resolve the loose railing. I am sorry you also had an issue with the neighbour. Obviously the house is in a residential area and we ask all guests to be mindful of this and generally have very few problems. I am not sure what happened on this occasion, but I apologise for the inconvenience caused. All the best, Steve (owner). Property Owner

"A lovely cosy cottage a few minutes walk from the centre of Windermere."
We thought the kitchen equipment needed another look. We would have appreciated a cafeteria and a chopping board and a few more mugs. Otherwise a lovely comfortable cottage, very comfortable beds.
Thank you for your feedback, the property should have a cafeteria and chopping board, thank you for letting us know these items have now been replaced. Property Owner

"We had a wonderful week here."
As a family of five we had plenty of space within the house and we felt very much at home. The cottage is in wonderful condition with lots of thoughtful finishing touches. Extremely clean. Very close to both Bowness (10 min walk) and Windermere (5 min walk) and a great park just around the corner from the cottage. We would love to stay again!

"A beautifully decorated and equiped home in a quiet street 15 mins walk from Bowness and Windermere."
Was concerned about reported parking issues prior to arriving, but 90% of the time we were able to park immediately outside the house and always within 50 yards- this during peak holiday time. The only issue I think it would be fair to mention (it may be in the property description, but I didn't see it), are the steps from the pavement down to the front door. They are perfectly negotiable by most able bodied folk, but may cause issues for those not too good on their feet. I must stress though, that this is a lovely property and we would be happy to rent again.

"Amazing location for exploring the Lakes."
Very clean and comfortable. Lovely comfy bed and great to have an ensuite when you are away with the family. Very close to all amenities. Windermere is a 10 min walk away with lots of great restaurants and bars.
Thank you for your feedback. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us and the location your property had to offer. We hope to welcome you back in the future. The owner relations team - Lakes Cottage Holidays Property Owner

"We had a lovely stay at Walkers Cottage."
The property has been renovated to a high standard and has a cosy, homely feel. Everything was spotless and kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. Master bedroom was spacious with a good ensuite shower. Its in a good location with both Windermere and Bowness town centres being within walking distance (although it is a steep uphill walk back from Bowness). Thank you for a lovely stay.

"We had a lovely stay over Easter."
The house is comfortable and thoughtfully decorated. Everything we needed was there. The location was also fabulous. There’s a really good park for children only a two minute walk away. Windermere shops are just 10 minutes to walk to and Bowness a 5 minute drive. We plan to stay again.

"My family had a lovely stay at Walkers Cottage, it was very comfortable and had a home from home feel."
Very well equipped. We had no issue with finding street parking and was pleased to find a shop and play park just a road away. Easy walk to Windermere or hilly walk to Bowness so great location.

"Walkers cottage is amazing!"
really well positioned as just a 5 minute walk from plenty of restaurant's shops etc. then its a 20 minute walk to the pier front. there were 5 adults and we never felt on top of each other. plenty of space and the cottage was so cosy and comfortable. this is one of the best accomadations we have stayed in.

"Apart from the weather it was fine."
The tea pot did not pour very well, and we would have preferred if the bath towels had been larger.
-
"Cottage living space was smaller than made to look on photographs which wasn't a problem for us as a couple but if 5 people staying I think it would be very cramped ."
Apart from that it was clean comfortable and very cosy with a lovely feel to it . Nicely finished with good quality fittings etc

"Walker’s cottage is a hidden gem."
10 minutes walk from central Windermere and a short drive to many fell top walks. The house is well decorated and laid out. The showers and beds were super. Lots of extra furnishing touches too. We cooked most nights, lots of resources (an over proof dish for a family size meal would be a good addition) and the house was cool for our warm weather stay. Sunny spots to sit outside and for washing to drive. Definitely would stay again and encourage you to book. It was just the stay we needed.

"Such a beautiful property and so close to everything."
Very clean and family friendly. So helpful that a highchair, fire guard and cot mattress was provided. Would recommend to anyone to stay here.

"Cottage is beautiful in a great location and very comfortable."
My only feedback would be for more cooking equipment for those cooking at home
“Thank you for your feedback Mrs Kirk. We have increased the amount of cooking equipment to cover everything you might need whilst on holiday. All the best, Steve and Julie." Property Owner

"A very well appointed cottage, very clean."
The facilities were correct in the cottage description, the sofas and beds were very comfortable, the cottage looked inviting as soon as we walked in. No problems encountered during our weeks stay, reassuring to have a contact number if required. A great base for our walking break in the Lakes. Good walking access to restaurants and shops in Bowness and Windermere, took less than half an hour to stroll back from Bowness in an evening. The owners had made the cottage feel very safe with precautions in place for Covid19, thank you for such a lovely base!

"I tried to contact your customer helpline 4 times before the holiday as I had a query and each time waited at least 30 minutes and then gave up."
I would suggest either offering an email address or live chat. Cottage was great and really clean. The only call out was that there were 4 of us and 2 toilet rolls which wasn't great and also no dishwasher tablets available, I would expect these to be provided.
We would like to thank you for taking the time to feedback on your stay at Walker's Cottage and are pleased that you found the cottage to be great and clean! We do apologise for the waiting times you experienced, unfortunately our call center are still experiencing exceptionally high volumes of calls due to COVID. Our local office however, would have been more than happy to assist in your queries and would have been happy to provide additional supplies of loo rolls. As Walker's Cottage is Self-Catering accomodation we do only provide a small supply of loo roll to get you through the first day. We apologise for the lack of dishwasher tablets, this was an oversight and I can confirm that a starter set of tablets is usually provided. We do look forward to you hopefully staying with us again. "A beautiful house in a quiet suburban street in Windermere."
Easy on street parking (we were able to park right outside almost all of the time we were there), and a short walk to both Windermere and Bowness, as well as to local hills. The house was spotlessly clean when we arrived, and had a range of essentials to start us off e.g milk, handwash, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets. The kitchen was well equiped with good quality pots, pans and utensils for home cooking, and there was plenty of crockery and cutlery. Although it is a terraced house, the walls are thick so it was nice and quiet. The TV has Now TV and Netflix. Both showers had good water flow and stable temperatures, and the beds were comfortable. All in all an excellent base for our Lake District holiday. My 9 year old wants to go back and live there forever!
This property is part of the Lakelovers collection.
