    The house was very clean, comfortable and bright. We were made to feel at home by our lovely hosts - including the adorable Stella! - who were always reliable, kind and around to help. The house had everything we needed and more, and the location is gorgeous - plenty to do nearby and very peaceful during evenings and nights.     The cottage was comfortable and a delight to stay in. Very well equipped with quality furnishings and everything you would need in the lovely kitchen. A beautiful garden to sit in and watch the birds, and very close to the seaside resort of Southport and the ancient market town of Ormskirk.   • "All we can say is wow the cottage was lovely and spacious, a home from home, warm,cosy, you could not have asked for more it was beautifully maintained everything you needed was there."

    The welcome was lovely and the hosts could not have been more friendly and welcoming. It was lovely to play catch with Stella the dog and meeting the other pets too it bought a smile to my face. We would highly re recommend this to anyone, if you for not drive the bus links to Southport, Wigan,Ormskirk, Burscough are excellent and on your doorstep. Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely cottage.

  • "This is a wonderful cottage!"

    The setting is beautiful with a couple of fab supermarkets nearby. The place is lovely and clean and the bathroom is beautiful. The owners could not do enough for us and are such nice people. There is plenty of parking and a nice country pub next door. I would not hesitate to recommend this holiday let. Many thanks to Sue and her family.

  • "The cottage was lovely, I can't thing of one thing to complain about."

    It was cosy, comfortable, warm and with all the facilities you could wish for. the lounge furniture was very comfortable, and all the carpeting and flooring was top notch. The bed in the main bedroom was at least six feet wide, so comfortable, and with beautiful bedding. The kitchen and bathroom were both modern and perfectly equipped. I can honestly say that we felt very much at home there, more so than any other rented accommodation we've used before. Sue was the perfect 'landlady', always with a big smile and ready to help if needed.

  • "8 Heaton Bridge was a lovely, well equipped cottage."

    The owners went out of their way to make the cottage warm, welcoming and comfortable. This started with the flowers, wine and snacks upon arrival. The kitchen was well equipped and was perfect for all needs from a quick coffee to an evening meal. The dishwasher and washing machine were good to have and suited our needs. The smart TV was great with the many benefits it has to offer as well as Netflix's. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable as was the bath. Well done to the owners for making it a lovely experience while we move house. I would recommend this cottage.

The property

This delightful, end-of-terrace cottage sits close to the village of Burscough, within West Lancashire.

Set over two floors, 8 Heatons Bridge is a charming retreat for families or two couples, providing easy access to Liverpool, Southport, Manchester and Blackpool.

Upon your arrival, park up in the off-road parking space and enter the property via the rear patio doors.

Rustle up something tasty in the kitchen, equipped with an electric oven and induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and even a dishwasher to assist with the washing up.

Serve supper at the dining table, before unwinding in the lounge, home to a large 48” Smart TV so you can catch up on your favourite shows, plus a gas woodburner for when the nights get chilly.

The bedrooms are positioned upstairs, offering a king-size and double setup, while there is a gleaming shower room with double walk-in shower enclosure, offering a lovely place to prepare for the day.

The village and civil parish of Scarisbrick rests in West Lancashire and is home to 8,000 acres of plenteous agriculture land and running alongside the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. The name Scarisbrick comes from Old Norse meaning 'Skar's slope' and dates back as early as 1200. Historically, travellers would avoid Scarisbrick due to its marshlands and peat bogs being difficult to cross, however the land is now rich and ready for exploration.
