  • "A warm, snug cottage very convenient for coastal walks and with an excellent pub nearby."

    Reviewed by TonyMar 2024

  • "Comfortable, warm and cosy."

It had everything we needed including teapot and cafetiere. The outside decking was slippy, but after the past few months that was to be expected - although a reminder sign might be useful, especially if it was on the gate, indicating the route to the upper decking. The proximity of the sea front, the historic headland and a pub with good food all added to the pleasure.

It's very clean and well equipped, with a lovely welcome pack (thank you). It is set up for responsible dog owners and the sun deck was a lovely surprise, despite the rain. I had a delightful short break and would recommend it to anyone wanting to explore the west coast.

  • "Beautiful cottage well presented and super clean."

Very comfy bed and living area. Excellent views from the seating area outside however we found the stairs up they’re very difficult so once there we stayed. We had a lovely week with some great walks. Parking was very difficult as was sleep during our week but this was due to film crews turning up on the second day taking over the village space and noise and lighting early into the morning hours. Would recommend the cottage to those who are fit and able to manage the steps etc gorgeous property.

The garden was delightful with a good view of Morecambe Bay from the top deck. The dog secure area made our stay a lot easier. The cottage is only a short walk (about 3 minutes) from the splendid local pub and restaurant which we made good use of. The local bay is also only a short walk away.

Some elderly people might find the three level accomodation a challenge. If you are happy to use Heysham as a base for travelling around the nearby area all well and good but unless you are doing a lot of self catering the local facilities are a little sparse. We enjoyed walking the nearby promenade and bay.

Pub and sea minutes walk away from the cottage. Pub very dog friendly and food and staff were excellent. I was on my own with my Cockerpoo, Nala. First time for her to experience sand. Walked to the Midland and got the bus back to the village. I was working while I was there and the internet was excellent. However, note I have EE and no signal at all in the cottage, albeit I used Wi-Fi calling. You cannot park outside of the cottage but I just parked on the next road so no issues. Only small freezer compartment so don’t take lots of freezer food!
