There are lots of places to eat out if you do not want to cook, local chippy was very good as was the Black Bull with good hospitality. Plenty of places to visit and fantastic views and scenery, just lovely for a few days away. Needed to contact owner with small issue which was dealt with promptly. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Everything you needed and more was there. Even the little things like dog gate and board games. All the little touches. And the beds - never slept in such a comfy bed. Location was perfect for the things we had planned - Yorkshire Dales and The Lakes, also the forest of Bowland. We would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a peaceful home stay away from home. Thank you so much.

The cottage is in the heart of High Bentham, so is very close to shops, pubs etc but nicely set back off the road. Lovely back garden with table and chairs - just a shame we didn't have the weather to use it! Would definitely like to visit again.

  • "The cottage is ideally located in the centre of high bentham."

Didn't use car as much as everything was within walking distant. The cottage was spotless. Cosy living/dining area. Kitchen was bigger than we thought it would be. Had everything we needed to cook. Gas fire in living room was brilliant as we had some rainy days. The two bedrooms were good sizes for small cottage. The beds were the most comfortable ones we had stayed in. The sofa and chair were good size but need replacing as not comfortable to sit on . Could have done with 2 sets of towels each as due to weather couldn't hang washing out, and no air dryer in house to put out wet clothes on. The parking space in front of cottage was really good as only allowed 30 minutes on main street. Would definitely stay here again. Pubs, restaurants, shops were really good.

  • "Lovely cozy little cottage."

Everything you need for a comfortable stay is provided. Beautifully decorated and very clean. Only slight niggle, was trying to lock the back door as the lock is faulty. One day we had to leave it unlocked, which made us a little nervous. Other than that it was an excellent place to stay with a couple of nice pubs and take-a-ways within yards of the property. A good base for visiting attractions during the day and returning at night to cozy up in front of the TV.

  • "The cottage is located in the heart of village and we could get anything we wanted in a very short walk."

It was easily the best equipped cottage we have ever stayed in. Despite being set back back from the main road it is very quiet and the neighbours are really nice. We used the cottage as a walking base and was really easy and quick to get to Ingleborough, Austwick, Malam and Clapham. There were also great walks on the doorstep, especially when walking our dog morning and evening. The welcome hamper was also an unexpected surprise, thank you.

  • "A very enjoyable stay."

A big thanks for the welcome pack. Found the cottage very cosy, just right for the two of us and our pet dog. Found the front and back door locks a little difficult to open occasionally and the sofa a little uncomfortable. Other than that all very good. Great local amenities and two good pubs, Black Lion especially. Beautiful area for walking and sightseeing. Left out blue recycling bin as per instructions and found a label on it later saying unable to collect but with no reason marked. Everything in bin was recyclable. Would love to return at some stage. • "We absolutely loved our stay at Honey Pot Cottage."

The decor was really bright and fresh, all furniture, fittings and linens were good quality and the location was perfect. It is in a pretty, little rural town which is set in beautiful countryside but has all the amenities you could need. There is a bakery, chip shop, cash machines, grocery shops, butchers, children's play area, train and a fabulous craft shop all within a few minutes walk. There is even a train station that is a 10 minute walk. The perfect base for exploring the area. The owners were friendly and offered to help with anything we needed and the welcome basket was a lovely touch. I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to explore this part of the dales.

The offroad parking is also a bonus. Due to a family emergency we had to extend our stay from 4 days to 7 and spoke with the home owner who was very helpful and assisted us in getting this sorted with Sykes. If need to hire a place in Bentham again in the future this will definitely be our first choice.

  • "This was our second time here and, despite the wet January weather, we still enjoyed our weeks stay."

There was two of us and Stan, the small dog. We feel it that it would be cramped for more than two but it does accommodate 4 and all provisions and facilities are there for this number of guests. The cottage has good quality facilities, very clean and pet friendly. The central heating was excellent in every room and kept us snug whilst it rained for most of the stay. The gas fire was very warm as Stan will confirm. The two bedrooms have double beds and nice quality bedding and towels. We think that the cottage has “nice vibes” and being pretty solid you don’t hear the neighbours. Bentham is a good place to stay and a fair choice of pubs and eating places given its size. A Co-op and Spar are very close by and open late so no problems for shopping. There’s a Bus stop right outside to Ingleton or Kirkby Stephen and a train station about 5 minute walk to Leeds or Lancaster means that you don’t need a car to enjoy being in Bentham. There’s no shortage of walks 5 minutes from the front door into the countryside and the riverbank walks are very relaxing. You will need waterproof boots if it’s been raining heavy for some of the walks. The cottage is in the village centre and easy walking to most of the 4 pubs (which means no drink driving) but plenty of gastro pubs out into the countryside if you wish. Off road parking right outside the front door meant that access for those with mobility issues is minimal. Stairs are not too steep and plenty of hand rails. A contact number was left for any issues (we had none at all) and a welcome pack with card is a friendly touch. The big test for any stay is would you go back and stay there again- for us it’s definitely yes.

Went to a couple of local pubs within walking distance, depending on your taste they were ok.

Only slight issue is there is no shaver point now a suitable socket near a mirror. Possibly my fault for having an older cabled shaver, we will invest in a better one as a back up for the future. The Cottage had all the facilities needed to make our stay very comfortable and everything as advertised on the web site. A great feature of this Cottage is its location and the one parking space right outside the front door. Although the weather was not really warm enough for us to sit out in the garden on this visit it would be great in the height of summer. Once again I would recommend this Cottage and we would not hesitate to come back again as our Old English Sheep dog enjoyed it as well, especially visiting the 3 pubs in the village.
