Set back off the road in the heart of Higher Bentham, the shops, cafes and good pubs with excellent food are all within less than 5 minutes walk! We enjoyed a local walk up to Big Stone and Ingleborough Cave and Nature Trail which is beautiful and all on Lynne's recommendations. A trip to nearby Ingleton is a must too and sitting in the cottage's back garden relaxing and enjoying the last days of summer. This really is a special part of the world and the cottage was the perfect beginning and end to every day. We'll be back.

The property

Honeypot Cottage is a great choice for exploring the stunning Yorkshire Dales, the dramatic Lake District and the sweeping Lancashire coast, as well as the beautiful Forest of Bowland.

This pretty and cosy terraced cottage boasts many features, including exposed beams and stonework and feature fireplaces.

There are two comfortable bedrooms and a convenient family shower room upstairs, and downstairs is a kitchen with dining area and a welcoming sitting room for relaxing in after a busy day out exploring the area.

Honeypot Cottage offers all the advantages of being in a small and traditional market town, yet it sits in a quiet location of High Bentham, cradled between the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District National Parks.

As a base, this holiday home is unbeatable with Windermere within half an hour's drive and the Trough of Bowland an easy drive away.

For those seeking adventures one is spoilt for choice; from the famous Three Peaks and Ingleton’s beautiful waterfall to the White Scar Cave, the longest show cave in Britain.

For adrenaline seekers there is caving, potholing and climbing, and for something a little gentler there are some superb walking opportunities and the Settle-Carlisle Railway provides a magical opportunity to take in the scenery.

The Trough of Bowland is very scenic and popular with visitors, particularly walkers and cyclists.

This is a lovely property for your well-deserved break away to this stunning area.

The small Yorkshire market town of High Bentham is ideal for exploring the Yorkshire Dales National Park to the north and east, with the Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, stretching away to the south. The Bowland fells and the nearby three peaks of Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-y-Ghent provide excellent terrain for the enthusiastic walker, while the delights of the Lake District and the spectacular coastal scenery of Morecambe Bay are only half an hour away. High Bentham is a busy little town with a weekly cattle market, good local shops and services, as well as a good choice of pubs serving food, while the 18-hole golf course is well known for its stunning views and friendly atmosphere. The High Bentham area is threaded with public footpaths and rights of way that are well documented in a local walking guide and cover locations such as the River Wenning and the Great Stone of Fourstones, a relic of the ice age and a spectacular viewpoint. The market towns of Settle, Kirkby Lonsdale, Skipton and Kendal are all within easy driving distance, making this lovely little town a great holiday base.
