  • "We found that the lodge was a bit tired, on saying that there was everything you needed as if at home, but the lodge looked tired and needed some updating, the decking was in a bad condition, being the first time in a lodge it was disappointing."

  • "The lodge needs a deep clean."

The kitchen and bathroom floors were the main areas that we noticed. If you split any water and then cleaned it up the cloth would be black from the dirt on the floor. There were also cobwebs in other places and dead flies etc around the backs of the beds. Overall it's a nice lodge but needs a full deep clean to keep it looking and feeling nice.

  • "We were dissapointed with the outside decking area and the table and chairs were filthy."

The decking was very slippy when wet and had not been swept for a long time. The table & chairs were covered in green lichen. We cant understand why this work was not carried out as covid closure surely gave the owners time to carry out any maintenance. It did not stop us enjoying our break, but instead of giving 9 out of 10 for the lodge we can only give it a 7. This was the only criticism we have of the lodge.

  • "The log cabin was lovely, spacious and the majority clean."

Unfortunately there were a couple of issues 1st there was dirty underwear found in the cabin which as you can imagine caused arguments between the daughter and partner, 2nd the shower in the on suite did not drain quick enough (possibly blocked). The beds were comfortable, the heating was amazing and the overall experience was great. The kids loved it and I’m sure we will go again.

  • "We had a great holiday."

The lodge was cozy and had everything we could have needed. Really handy for Windermere. Lovely walk across the hills to Ambleside. A couple of good eating pubs within walking distance. Lots of beautiful old Lake District buildings to explore including the church down the road and Townend National Trust House. Kids enjoyed the books and games.

  • "Throughly enjoyed our stay in Lakeside Lodge, felt the lodge was very private with bushes around the dining sitting area."

A very well spacious living area with a lovely gesture from the owners with DVDs books and games to use. Good sized double bedroom with ensuite shower room. A very well presented kitchen with all utilities and another lovely gesture of tea coffee biscuits milk and also cleaning products. Ideal location and fantastic scenery will certainly be visiting again.

  • "Good: Great lodge, great location, car parking for two, very well-run complex, friendly helpful on-site staff (Kevin), beautiful views from the Lodge and the Haybarn on-site pub just around the corner from the Lodge, a little walk up the site-road but only two minutes away, take binoculars and a camera."

Lovely little walk around the site down by the (River) Beck. Good for dogs, Kept very clean. Climbing frames, swings and picnic areas on-site. Go to the Queens Head pub just up the road (Turn right when you exit the complex) and the Mortal Mann pub around the corner from the QH. Great local pubs. Do the Tongue Walk starting at the Queens Head Pub, leaflet can be found in the Queens Head pub as you walk in, it took us over three hours so take food and drink with you. Lodge DVD player didn't work and the grill only to the lodge oven kept throwing the main switch but over all very pleased, will be returning DVD or no DVD. :-) Bad: Over grill only kept throwing the main switch and a no working DVD player. We still had a lovely stay.
