“Wow! That was our reaction as we drove up the hill and saw Chester House.”

    ...

We were looking for a perfect little hideaway to celebrate a big birthday and also get away from the hustle and bustle of normal life and that's exactly what we got! The house is set in stunning surroundings and VERY private! There's everything you need from a fully supplied kitchen to a HUGE hot tub just outside the back door. Karen, our host, has been great and very quick to come back with answers to any queries we had pre arrival and while we were there. We enjoyed the Slitt Wood walk (on Karen's recommendation) and then enjoyed some chill out time at the house, perfect! We also took advantage of Chef John who cooked us our evening meal on Saturday night at the house including some of the best cheese cakes we've ever eaten! We also had afternoon tea on Sunday, again prepared by Chef John, which has to be THE best afternoon tea we've ever had the pleasure of eating. The homebaking was incredible and we were able to take some home with us on the Monday to enjoy when we got home! If you're looking for a quiet, out of the way getaway with access to walks whilst still being close to some good sized places for amenities and shops then Chester House is ideal. Thanks Karen and Chef John for making our stay and birthday celebration so special. Looking forward to staying again in the future.
