  • "Spacious, clean and well-presented cottage."

Perfect for our family of 5 plus the pooch! The living room come diner was a great size for children to play in on rainy days and the garden was fantastic for when the sun was shining. Utility and drying room were very useful! Great location for exploring - Motor museum, Ulverston, Windermere and Beatrix Potter attractions all ideal for kids.

  • "A beautiful cottage for 6 people, however it was unclear on the website that there was only one bathroom."

We had expected one en-suite which turned out not to be the case. I think that should be made clear. I think that there should be second wc for 6 people sharing.

  • "We had a wonderful week here and would definitely recommend staying here."

The accommodation was great, comfortable and clean and being in the grounds of the house was amazing. The only thing that was difficult was the TV didn’t work very well and there was no one on hand all week to talk about it. All in all a wonderful holiday thanks

Shame that there was a leak in the main bedroom and mould growing on the ceiling and wall not what except to see in a holiday home

Many thanks for taking the time to provide feedback on Mackereth Cottage. I am sorry to hear your comments regarding the failing to the ceiling in the bedroom. Unfortunately this was caused due to a leak in the roof from recent bad weather and had not yet been redecorated due to scheduling issues. I can assure you that this matter has been remedied by our maintenance team and that no mould is present in the property. I am sorry that this matter was the only feedback you provided about the cottage and do hope otherwise you enjoyed your stay and shall return to Holker in the future. Kind regards Property Owner

  • "We loved the cottage."

The location was perfect and the cottage was beautiful. Finished to an exceptionally high standard and extremely well equipped. The garden was great for our two dogs. The only aspect we found a little difficult was sharing one bathroom between 6 adults! It took a bit of planning and time to get ready to go out.

Hi Jo Thank you so much for taking the time to provide your feedback for the Holiday Cottage. I am glad to see you enjoyed your stay and also the dogs enjoyed their time in the garden. It really is a great space for all. I note your comment regarding the number of bathrooms against the total number of guests. I apologise that this was not quite what you were expecting however we do ensure that the property details accurately represent the number of bedrooms and bathrooms available. Very pleased you enjoyed your stay and do look forward to welcoming you back to Holker in the future. With very best wishes. Property Owner

  • "Property was excellent."

The only shame was I just had tea and coffee on welcome pack no milk. Lucky I did buy some just in case. The actual cottage was fantastic though so only a minor hiccup. Generally all good.

Hi Victoria Thank you for your lovely feedback regarding our cottage here at Holker. Apologies for the missing milk - and I hope this did not impinge too much on your stay. Look forward to your return. Best wishes Claire and the Team at Holker Country Cottages Property Owner

  • "Absolutely fantastic property."

The surprise welcome pack was greatly appreciated on arrival. The large garden area for perfect for having meals outside and for the dogs to have a run-around. Being able to visit the extensive winter market at Holker Hall was an added bonus. The only slight negative was the somewhat vague instructions on how to find the property.

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback Christine. I am glad to hear you enjoyed your stay and the Winter Markets. I have noted your comments regarding the vague instructions to find the property and requested Heart of the Lakes to update their records. I look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
