  • “We loved our stay in Shepperds Cottage, it was cosy and comfortable and situated in beautiful surroundings.”

Because there was no light pollution we enjoyed to watch the numerous stars in the evenings. We had many amazing walks, fantastic trips, climbed Helvellyn mountain, kayaked on Coniston water, visited pretty towns and even had a trip to the beech and a nature reserve. Much driving as due to the little roads everything takes much longer. Our dog loved it and was made very welcome. Our host was wonderful, incredibly knowledgeable and friendly and always ready to give advice or information when ...

Much driving as due to the little roads everything takes much longer. Our dog loved it and was made very welcome. Our host was wonderful, incredibly knowledgeable and friendly and always ready to give advice or information when needed. Due to the location we didn't have signal on our mobile phones and we had little Wifi, buy for us that added to the whole atmosphere. We've loved our week, many thanks.
