  • "We had a lovely week staying at Fox Corner close to Ambleside with amazing views from the terrace & hot tub."

The cottage has everything for a comfortable cozy vacation.

  • "A fabulous weeks stay."

This is a cosy very well equipped cottage, that gives a great base for walking and exploring the lakes. The facilities and location are brilliant. The hot tub and patio area are superb for relaxing after a long walk and viewing all the wildlife. Deer, foxes, birds etc. Only one thing to mention. The photos give the impression thst the cottage is bigger than it actually is. But, it is plenty big enough for two adults and dog if you have one. Definately be looking at going back

    We loved it.

  • "It was a fantastic holiday, beautiful location and wonderful cottage."

The only thing was that upon arrival there there was a note on the hot tub not to be used after 10pm with no music to be played on the deck. While I appreciate the reasoning that wasn't mentioned on the advert. It didn't bother us too much, apart from missing out on looking at the stars in the hot tub, as at 10pm in June it's still very light. I understand why given the location of other properties but I think it being advertised would be helpful to future customers.

  • "The cottage is absolutely beautiful and the best possible location in the Lakes, not too far from villages but out of the way enough to have tranquility."

A personal favourite was watching the deer, buzzards and other wildlife. The cottage has all facilities required for a couple and the balcony is an added bonus with perfect jacuzzi, so beautiful! The only thing I would say is that checking in and out times are a little late/early but I appreciate the cross over preparation time and the bedroom felt/smelt a little damp, especially the drawers but I guess that's due to the age of the place, perhaps some extra ventilation is needed down there. Lakelovers were also really quick to accommodate us after we had to postpone due to the first lockdown - it was worth the extra year wait! Thanks again, we will return when the crazy prices hopefully go down a little. Can't wait!

  • "At the time of booking, the company where branded as Lakelovers, the company appeared to have change dover to Skyes, On the day of arrival we did not receive any information regarding the key code."

I, I was sent an email by Skyes providing information On how to log on , I did but the was no booking on that site. The was no sms text message, I did not want to take a risk of Driving to the lakes not knowing if we could get in the property. I rang Lakelovers call was diverted to Sykes a very helpful member of staff , rang us back in 30 minutes or so and we then also recieved and email telling us the detail of the log on code. Thinks that perplex me A check in time after 5pm and out by 9 am for extra cleaning, the only two rooms . Why does it need so much extra time? Especially on checking , in the winter ,, the owners did leave lights on and the room was warm so that was helpful. The was a £350 pound excess for damages that need to be paid upfront, that also seems very excessive for a two people mini stay. We do not know when and how that deposit will be refunded. It would be better for the owner or representative to be the property To check and validate at the start of the holiday and at then end? To carry out an inventory, as when you leave the property The May be a dispute between owner and client about the deposit and inventory of the property.

About the location

AMBLESIDE

Grasmere 4.4 miles; Windermere 4.7 miles; Keswick 16.7 miles.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
