A couple of issues which Julia did her utmost to resolve. If you’re not a dog lover this may not be the place for you.

So lovely to look out of the window and see one woman and her dog herding the sheep. Cottage has been renovated to a very high standard and has everything you need for a ‘get away’ break.

  • "My first visit to the Dales and my cottage was the perfect location for getting out and about to some stunning walks with my dog, and the shops were enough distance away not to spoil the experience."

Julia is a lovely host, next door on her working farm if I needed anything but I didn't as the cottage is wonderful, with everything you would need for your holiday. She even left me some fresh milk, tea and coffee on my arrival after my long drive. The cottage is high end with a good comfortable bed. Hot water and heating not restricted so very welcoming after a long day out walking!I As a woman traveling on my own I felt very safe at No3 and would stay again. I would definitely recommend!

  • "A lovely, cosy and beautiful cottage with high standard finish and equipment."

Really enjoyed my/our stay. Only consideration: if you drink a lot of coffee and like it there is no cafetière or coffeemaker (they use sachets) - but the owner might have taken this already on board. Definitely top marks and would love to go back!

So pleased you enjoyed your stay and thank you for your kind remarks. Rest assured that there is now a cafetiere in the cupboard awaiting your return. Property Owner

About the location

HELLIFIELD

Settle 6 miles; Skipton 9 miles.

The village of Hellifield lies between Settle and Skipton at the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It's a thriving, small community with a local pub, scattering of small shops, a renowned butcher's and historic railway station. The village nestles amongst the most picturesque rolling countryside, beside the largest outcrop of limestone in Britain - a region of scars, cliffs, caves and potholes. Hellifield grew as an important agricultural centre, where the moorlands of the Dales meet the pasturelands of the Ribble Valley, and boasted one of the most important livestock markets in the North of England for many years. It later developed into a railway centre and the famous Settle-Carlisle Railway crosses some of the most beautiful and inspiring upland scenery in the country. Natural attractions such as Malham Cove and Gordale Scar are within easy reach, as are the nearby Dales towns of Skipton and Malham. Hellifield is in the midst of excellent walking country and is a good base for touring the Dales, the Lake District and the Forest of Bowland.
