  • "Absolutely fantastic property, immaculately clean and beautifully presented with a very generous welcome pack."

Ruth met us on arrival and took us through the property showing us everything and also some great historical facts reference the barn. Her enthusiasm for the area and recommendations meant we had some wonderful days out. Perfectly located for a tranquil and peaceful getaway while allowing easy routes in all directions for great exploration of the lakes and further a field. We would love to return next year and will be recommending this wonderful accommodation to family and friends. We had our 2 pooches with us and had access to dog shower and washing/drying room with dog treats, towels etc. We were visited by red squirrels, wood peckers and tree creepers. The hot tub of an evening under the stars & Milky Way as well as being able to see the Northern Lights was incredible! An absolutely Perfect Week away!

  • "It was our first time away with the dog so wasn't quite sure what to expect."

We needn't have worried as the property was amazing. The little touches like treats and towels for the dog and a lovely welcome basket was very much appreciated. Our host Ruth was lovely and very welcoming and she pointed out places to walk and eat.But the hot tub at the end of a long day walking and sightseeing was absolute heaven and a great vantage point for watching the red squirrels. We would definitely stay here again.

  • "Our host Ruth met us at the front door and explained everything we needed to know about the accommodation."

Ruth was very welcoming and friendly, telling us if we needed anything just to give her a call. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and well laid out, we had a very relaxing time staying at the Meadow Byre, just sitting in the small garden watching the red squirrels. The amenities that were provided were all you could wish for during a self catering holiday, including a bottle of wine as part of the the welcome pack whichincluded tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and other basics. We really had a most enjoyable and relaxing time and we intend to book again.

  • "Amazing property, fantastic views from the byre, Ruth was the most welcoming, helpful host, complimentary biscuits and wine was a lovely touch."

The byre is beautifully furnished, had the most comfortable massive bed! Hot tub was super, and easy to use. Brampton village is literally a 10 minute walk if that away, great local pub there for meals and drinks. I wish I could have stayed forever! Will most definitely be back!

  • "Great cottage, everything you need is provided."

Very comfortable and clean. Ruth was there to meet us and was perfect host. Hot tub was great and garden was secure for our dogs. Short walk to village for the pub and store. Can’t fault anything. One great addition would be a structure over hot tub for keeping rain off in our great British summertime.

  • "This little cottage was delightful, had everything we needed."

. Only downside was whilst eating at the table the sun gets in your eyes.. We couldn't get on internet most days too, to watch tv.. probably due to where we were.. but we had the hot tub to enjoy instead..

We are so glad you enjoyed the cottage & had everything you needed, but we were sorry to hear you had a problem with the TV internet. We were totaly unaware there was an issue. We have now addressed this which was not due to where you were but a hardwear issue which has now been fixed Property Owner

  • "We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful cottage."

The location is perfect, we loved looking out and seeing the red squirrels and the sheep. I messaged the owners and let them know it was our mini moon and they had decorated the cottage with petals, left flowers, chocolates and champagne for us, and the swan towels were a lovely touch. Can’t wait to visit again. Thank you so much for a lovely break away.

Ideal location for the lake district. Gorgeous facilities with THE comfiest bed. Hot tub was secluded and felt very private. Surrounded by beautiful scenery. Extremely accommodating owners who are lovely and went above and beyond. Cleanliness was exceptional. Will definitely be returning.

  • "This property is stunning."

The location is idyllic. The barn is beautifully decorated with top quality finishes throughout. The hot tub is a real winner after a long day walking round the lakes which are all within a 50 min drive (Windermere) and some as close as 20 mins away (Ullswater). The host has thought of pretty much everything - fully equipped kitchen, treats for the dog and us on arrival, everything you’d want in a home from home. Can’t recommend it enough. We will be back!

  • "Absolutely FANTASTIC property."

Me, my partner and our 2 Labradors (Heidi & Zoe) stayed here for the weekend (first weekend of opening) and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to call home for the weekend. Everything was completely perfect from start to finish - there wasn’t anything more we could of asked for at Meadow Syke Byre. Ruth was very welcoming and showed us around the property, explained how the hot tub worked and also showed us the utility room - dog shower, one word… AMAZING and well needed after busy days exploring The Lake District. The whole accommodation and lay out is very well thought out and at such a high standard. The bed was by far the comfiest we have EVER slept on - so much so we’ve already ordered a DreamCloud mattress since visiting! We were also amazed to find out there is a door through to the property next door - fabulous if you’re going away with family or friends and one we will definitely bare in mind for future bookings. The fields outside the property were amazing and extremely useful for letting the girls out for a run first thing on a morning and last thing at night! Overall we had a perfect weekend at Meadow Syke Barn, we will 100% recommend the property to family and friends and hopefully be back again when we next explore The Lake District! Thank you Ruth for a wonderful stay - we hope to see you again in the near future, Beth & Marc (and Heidi & Zoe)

Thanks so much Beth for your lovely comments. I am so please you all had a great weekend and look forward to welcoming you back Property Owner
