Very clean and everything you could need and more. Having the hot tub was the icing on the cake. It was nice that the owners were on hand to help when needed. Loved it.

  • "The property was very clean and had a lot of good points."

But the property needed needs some maintenance, there was water damage on a number of ceilings, the ceilings in a lot of rooms are badly cracked. Both showers leaked from the upstand rail, and the doors on the upstairs shower cubicle where not attached at the bottom. There is an issue with the back door barrel, you have to learn the knack of unlocking the door.

David , I Have had a look at the ceilings & yes the one in the kitchen is being a pain as it is were the plaster board joins & movement upstairs is causing it to move hence the crack that keeps reappearing., upstairs in the main bedroom it is the wallpaper that has dried out leaving the plaster & has now been sorted. What a shame you did not contact me during your stay, on the shower upstand the nut had worked loose & 2 turns with a spanner resolved the problem. With regard to the shower doors the top rail had lifted slightly causing the wheels to leave the runner again fixed in minutes by giving the top rail a gently push down. The barrel in the back door was resolved with WD40. We want all our guests to have the best experience possible. Kath Property Owner

  • "What a great base for exploring the Lake District."

The property is really well equipped with everything you need for a holiday and more. So much thought has been put into making it a “home from home”. It's the most comfortable accommodation we have stayed in to date! The extra touches, such as supplying tea, coffee, sugar, milk (and the bottles of wine and biscuits) was very thoughtful and gratefully received on arrival, especially after a 5 hour journey from Shropshire. Our rescue Sprollie, Lola, loved the freedom of the clean, spacious and secure back garden too. The immediate neighbours were also very friendly, and clearly used to having ever changing neighbours (some kids popped their heads over the fence one evening asking if we had any children they could play with). Kath was very approachable, making sure we had everything we needed at the start and throughout our stay. Definitely somewhere we'd come back to as and when we are next in the Lakes.:-)

Jennifer so pleased you enjoyed your stay exploring this part of the Lakes. We are lucky in having such nice neighbours & the local children enjoy having fresh faces to play with & always make them welcome. Dogs really enjoy the Beach & Garden as well as walking the fells. Hope to see you again. Kath Property Owner

  • "Beautifully presented property with pretty much everything you'd need."

Hot tub was superb and just the thing we wanted to unwind in. Beach is a 1 minute drive away and great for watching the sun set. The street is quiet even though the house is on a roadside. Parking ample for the property and the location is nice and secluded. Highly recommend this property and host. Even had a thoughtful welcome gift for when we arrived. Quick to answer any queries we had.

  • "Wonderful property located in a quiet rural neighbourhood."

Its a great base location for exploring the Lake District, just be prepared to travel if you want to explore the Lakes. Lovely beach less than 5 mins drive from property with ample parking. Property is well equipped with all the things you require for a holiday, my mobile phone signal was bit hit and miss but the property has wifi so didn't cause me any issues. The hot tub is an added bonus to relax at the end of a busy day of exploring!!!

Gareth, thank you for your feedback & pleased you enjoyed your stay. Phone signal is an issue at present but they are working on it & hopefully will be resolved for the whole area soon. Kath Property Owner

  • "Thank you so much for making our holiday relaxing and part of making memories."

The little touches, supplying tea, coffee, sugar, milk was very thoughtful especially getting in after a long drive from Kent. The kids (age 10 and 13) loved thier stay and the neighbours kids were very welcoming and included our too. Everything was very comfortable and very clean. Providing dishwasher tablets was a kind gesture too. There has clearly been a lot of thought by the property owner into providing an amazing holiday home (not just a house!). The hot tub was clean and in a private part of the garden so you were not overlooked by neighbours. Although we did not have a four legged friend with us and the property allows dogs, there were no evidence of previous pets (only a couple of friendly local cats popping over once in a while for a cuddle). So care had been taken to ensure no dog mess was left behind. We have no grumbles. A family of 4 throughly enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Karen, Thank for your lovely feedback & so pleased you enjoyed your stay. Feedback is always useful to ensure I am keeping on top of everything. Hope to see you again. Kath Property Owner

  • "The house was all we expect and more."

It suplyed a few extras which we wasn't expecting. There was a beautiful welcome pack. And we had a slow cooker which came in really handy. The beds was comfy. The only thing we picked up on was that it could have done with a second t.v in the dinning room. We will definitely be going back

Adrian, Thank you for your feedback & pleased you enjoyed your stay. We haven't placed a TV in the Dining Room as we feel this allows for a quite area for those that wish to read / play board games etc. Look forward to seeing you again & hope the weather will be kinder to you. • "We had a lovely holiday with extended family here (adults and an older teen)."

The house was immaculate and had everything we needed. After a day's walking and getting caught in torrential rain (it's the lakes after all!) we came home to a hot tub (so nice - even in light drizzle!), piping hot showers, tumble drier, drying rack and toasty radiators to dry all the wet clothes and shoes and warm up. Thoroughly welcome! The weather cheered up for the next few days and we were able to eat outside at the table, or enjoy a coffee there at breakfast. The garden appeared dog proof, and was lovely, but we didn't entirely trust Luna not to jump the gate so didn't let her out unsupervised, but that's Luna's fault, not the house :) Beds were very comfortable and all had extra blankets if you are feeling the cold. Very thoughtful things like bin bags, dishwasher tablets and milk being left made our stay easier, and a few bottles of wine very welcoming.

Clare, Thank you for your feedback & pleased you enjoyed your stay & get together. Bless Luna the grass is always greener on the other side :). Would love to see you all again. Kath Property Owner

The house was lovely and clean and well equipped with anything you may need during your stay. The hosts were very pleasant and were contactable if there were any issues, nothing was too much trouble. As fellow Sykes owners we know how hard it is to provide everything to get the most out of your stay, but they managed it. Would defiantly recommend this house and will hopefully be back in the future to enjoy another stay in this great location.

We took a small dog and we were unable to let him out without a lead. Would be no problem with a larger breed. We hadn’t realised how remote the property was going to be (our mistake) thus getting to places was rather time consuming.
