  • "We had a lovely stay at Storrs, the cottage is spotlessly clean and cosy with a very well equipped kitchen and bright sun room to sit in and look out over the views."

There are lots of walks from the door and more nice little villages only a few minutes drive away, though we only used the car once. There is a Co-op store for most needs and some interesting independents in the village, plus a couple of good pubs. I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone, and thank you for the nice touches of the wine and fresh flowers

Thank you for your lovely comments we really appreciate your feedback and we hope you visit us again. Property Owner

  • "Our first stay in this cottage and Ingleton."

A lovely, cosy cottage, very welcoming with everything needed for an enjoyable stay. The cosy lounge with a log burner was very welcoming at the end of the day, after exploring the surrounding area. A lovely patio to the back of the cottage with wonderful views - would be lovely to sit out here in the summer. The bed was soooo comfortable, with ample storage space in each bedroom - we were not disturbed by any traffic noise, despite being on a busy B road. Parking outside the cottage was just enough for our large car. Spacious bathroom, shower was lovely. The kitchen had a wonderful array of essentials that are often sadly lacking in holiday cottages. The cottage is well placed for walks and drives to neighbouring villages. We did the Ingleton Waterfall Trail, visited Ribblehead Viaduct and the Station Inn, we also managed a hike up Pen-Y-gent, which is part of the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge. Ingleton is a very pretty village and has a lots of lovely independent shops and eateries, along with a few pubs, all well worth a visit. Sadly, we were only able to stay for 4 nights this time, but will definitely be back and would have no hesitation in staying in this cottage again.

Cottage immaculately clean and very fully equipped. Even better, everything worked perfectly! Only slight downside was the location right on a B road. Not a deal breaker in any way but be prepared for some traffic noise from 6 am. Owners perfectly situated in the adjacent property so we knew that they were in easy reach. As everything worked well we had no reason to contact them and they, in turn, left us alone. A win - win. Thank you. Would we return? At the drop of a hat if we decide to stay again in Ingleton.

  • "Lovely cottage well equipped with everything you need."

The layout made it easy for us with our 2 dogs - i.e. they slept in the kitchen at night which could be shut off at both ends when we went to bed - good amount of floor space for their beds in the lounge during the day - baby gate at bottom of stairs the ensure they couldn’t sneak upstairs. Views from the courtyard garden are stunning. Found the road very busy with big lorries going up and down from about 5am which was a surprise - we all sleep with our bedroom windows open so noticed how noisy it was especially in the mornings - not really an issue for us as we are early risers but could be for others if they are not - noise considerably less with windows closed and you don’t notice it when you are at the rear of the property/in the garden.

Thank you for your review and so glad that you enjoyed your stay. Unfortunately we do have quarry traffic passing the cottage during the week fortunately not at the weekend. This quarry traffic will be stopping as the quarry is due to close. Property Owner

  • "Wasnt made a wear on the details of heavy passing traffic coming past all hours of the day and night."

The impression on the details made it look like there was more space at the rear of the house. Very limited parking. Fire starting pack is limited. But still had a lovely time and would recommend .

We are really glad you had a wonderful time and thank you for saying that you will recommend our holiday cottage. I would like to just comment on the feedback given, firstly regarding the road. This is a B road which runs through the village and takes traffic up into the Dales. It does go extremely quite at night. Anywhere you stay in the village is going to be by a road so it would be difficult not to have traffic noise if you want to stay in the village. Secondly we offer off road parking for one vehicle which is exactly what there is. Everyone who stays finds the parking adequate. Thirdly we state in the description that a starter pack of logs is provided again that is exactly what is provided together with kindling and fire lighters for the first fire. Lastly, the garden is described as a south facing patio garden which has beautiful views over to the Bowland fells and in the summer months gets the sun all day. Many guests who have stayed with pets love it due to the fact it is walled and they can let their pet out and they know it is safe. In the information booklet that we provide in the cottage we do offer the use of the lawned area beyond the patio garden if the guests want to use it. Property Owner

It was spotlessly clean, comfortable beds & pillows. Our holiday was for a rest to recharge our batteries and have a few trips out. Blessed with good weather we made full use of the patio, which caught the sun all day. Bill & Anne, the owners welcomed us, checked we were ok and said they were available if we had any problems. It was very homely, spotlessly clean, and well equipped with high quality fixtures and fittings. Ingleton is a lovely village with all the essential amenities on your doorstep including a bakery, small Italian restaurant, Tapas bar and a fantastic micro pub called the 'Old Post Office'. The cottage is very comfortable and ideally located for walking in the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. Our only, very small, criticism would be that there is no washing machine and we didn't notice that this wasn't on the appliance list. there was a dish washer and in all honesty we never used it for the small amount of cooking we did, whereas a washing machine would have been very useful. Having said this it is a lovely cottage and we thoroughly enjoyed staying here.

The fact that this Holiday cottage is dog-friendly, made it complete for us, as "Kym" is an old dog and blind now and we would not wish to put him in kennels or have the responsibility for his care transferred to our family. We enjoyed the walks around the secure garden and the proprietor's dog was friendly. The cottage was spotless and the wifi enabled us to keep in touch with the wider world if we needed or wanted to. There is something rather comfortable for me in being able to enjoy the benefits of the wood burning stove, with the warm glow of the real fire in the evening, memories of the past, with perhaps a decent glass of a full-bodied red wine. You do not have to always eat at home, even though it has a fully equipped kitchen, as there are many restaurants in the village to dine at, from breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also, their are "takeaways" including Indian and Spanish cuisine to try. There is also a super Fish and Chip shop in the village. The "Wheatsheaf" pub is just down the road, it is dog-friendly and has a good choice of hand pulled beers with meals of quality and of substantial portions. We enjoyed the Sunday Lunch. Ingelton is situated in wonderful countryside. The cottage is at the top of town away from the smaller streets. It is in a spot that enables one to easily travel locally to enjoy the area or to motor out to very many other destinations of interest. for example, Carnforth, Arnside, Morecambe, and lakeside towns such as Windemere or Ambleside. I am a steam railway fan and the sight of some renowned locomotive pulling a special across the Riddlesdale Head viaduct is a sight to be seen. We saw A1 "Tornado" on the viaduct which is just up the road from the cottage, past the "White scar" caves. I am sure that we will return as soon as we are able. I recommend the cottage most highly.
