  • "A lovely cottage, superb location."

Really clean and maintained, can be a bit noisy at times as it's on the main road. Only disappointment was no welcome pack which after several hours travelling would have been nice to be able to make tea/coffee. Also, bit disappointed to have no spare bin bags or dish cloths etc and couldn't effectively hoover as hoover was clogged up with hair. All in all had a wonderful stay.

Thank you for your balanced feedback. You are quite correct, there should have been binbags and dishcloths, and there is usually tea, coffee and sugar available. After a busy summer, there has been an oversight in terms of ensuring they're replaced in enough quantity, so I apologise for this. Thank you for bringing it to my attention, and I am glad that you otherwise enjoyed your stay in Ingleton. Property Owner

  • "A cosy comfortable cottage."

Well equipped apart from the lack of washing up liquid. We enjoyed our stay in Ingleton. Can highly recommend Seasons Bakery - great bread and cakes. Sweet Petite has great milkshakes and ice cream and La Tavernetta the small local Italian. Great walking nearby. Had a great holiday

Thank you for your feedback, we are glad you enjoyed your stay. There should certainly have been washing up liquid provided, so I apologise for that and we will ensure it's rectified. Glad you tried some of the local eateries, we are spoilt for choice for food and drink in Ingleton! Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage, cosy and clean, and a well equipped kitchen."

Beds were comfy with goid bedding. Really enjoyed our short stay. Couple of small points, one of the curtain tie backs in the lounge was coming out of the wall, and when we tried to heat food in the main oven, the oven didn't get warm even though the light was on. We used the small oven which was fine. Also, there was a dirty pizza tray left in the oven by someone previous to us. Overall a lovely cottage in a great location.

We really appreciate these useful pointers as we are not always at the property, and we will get these issues resolved as soon as possible. Otherwise we are glad you enjoyed your stay! Property Owner

  • "This was a most awaited vacation with my family whom I had not met for almost a year."

I was hoping that the stay being so expensive would live up to my expectations. However, below are the issues I would like to highlight with this property, and would not recommend this property to anyone. 1. Non-existent basic confectionaries - which would have definitely been available had I booked an airbnb accommodation 2. There was no dishwashing liquid available in the property but I received an email with a long list of how to leave the property. Yes, I left it exactly I received it, with nothing! This is a horrible experience. 3. 298 pounds for 2 nights is definitely an expensive rate for the low facilities available here. Creaking floorboards, such a small double bed, and absolutely no toiletries provided. I booked this property for the sole reason that it was meant to be genuine Yorkshire Dales property as it was listed on the official Dales website. This might sound trivial, but there was no basic stuff like a lump of sugar and salt. Better not to let out a property if the amenities cannot be provided. A washing machine but not even a trace of washing liquid was available. Well, the email I received about how to leave the property included big nonsense about the dishwasher (which was missing from the whole property), drying pots, and whatnot. I couldn't even leave feedback to the owner as they did not even bother to leave a pen on the table. This is how my experience has been. I would suggest Sykes Cottage if they believe in serving their customers better, just exclude this property from their listing.

Thank you for your feedback. Just to clarify, the cost of the property for two nights was £251.00,at the start of the school holidays. Based on the size of the property it rents at a very reasonable cost, despite its position in the centre of the village close to several amenities and beautiful walks. I do not understand the figure quoted above. This is not premium real estate, it is a small yet charming cottage which is over a hundred years old and has a few creaks. There is no dishwasher in the property, neither is it listed as having a dishwasher. However, there should have been washing up liquid for the machine and also for the dishes, I apologise for this oversight and have arranged an immediate restock. There is salt and sugar in the cupboard. I am sorry you had such a dreadful time. Property Owner

The bed and bedding was beautiful soft and cosy. Everything was there you needed, beautifully carpeted I could go on. The Water Falls Walk was spectacular so was White Scar Caves, the people in the village were so friendly and helpful, we had lovely walks round the village, went on the bus to Lancaster. What a brilliant week we had, happy memories.

Thank you for your kind comments. Ingleton is a truly lovely village with wonderful people, I am glad you appreciated it so much, and that you had such a great time! Property Owner

  • "Beautiful cottage in a prime location, however, little things like small bars of soap need to be added, no dishcloth, carpet that needs re-stretching in several areas and in the main doorway as it has come away from the front matting, it just needs a bit of TLC to make this cottage excellent, on the up side well equipped for a dogs, I would definitely re-book as it was a great stay, but there is no garden at the property like many in the village so you will have to take your pooch out first thing."

Thank you for your detailed feedback, we will take your comments on board and look to amend as necessary ASAP. Glad you enjoyed your stay! Property Owner

  • "Nice and clean cottage."

Bedding was a bit tired and some stains on it but was clean. Issue with small black flies from front window. We had to clean them up each night as the windowsill was covered in them. Was disappointed no welcome pack as other places I’ve stayed have left something to welcome guests. Dog bowls were provided and a toy and blanket. This was a nice touch. Bathroom facilities were good.

Comfortable beds. Clean and well maintained. Only comment is to remind people to log out of online services on TV as is open to abuse. But this isn't an issue with the house. Honestly, if was on the market, I'd put in an offer to buy it. Will definitely stay again

Property was reasonably clean (some cobwebs). A nice touch that tea/coffee was available. I did contact Sykes while away because the water was not hot enough for a bath, my son and I got bitten in bed, Unfortunately still awaiting a response.

We have tried to contact you directly to discuss this feedback (a voicemail was left), and are also awaiting further information regarding the bites that we have been advised has been requested of you by Sykes. Without this information, we are unsure what type response you are awaiting. We have contacted the previous and subsequent occupiers, and neither has experienced the same. We have contacted the cleaner to check she has noticed nothing untoward. The bedding is obviously washed and the house cleaned between every visit, and this is the first such instance described to us. We urge you to provide further information, contact us directly by reply, and assure you that we take your comments very seriously. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cosy cottage… well maintained very clean when we entered."

Was in walking distance to the local amenities. Found Ingleton itself quite odd… the village is a bit split and the restaurants were closed and not reopening anytime soon.. and the everyday coffee shops etc opened when they felt like it! So you didn’t know when you walked into the town area what was going to be open or not in a lot of cases… so was disappointed in that! But we were there for the walking and we got great weather and great walking… so overall a lovely holiday… but Ingleton not my favourite destination in the Dales…

A perfect size for 2 people and a dog for a week, the cottage was also well equipped throughout, probably just needs a good cutting board to complete things. If your dog gets mucky, you might need a bucket and sponge as there isn't one in the cottage. There was a dvd and catch up facility on the TV, so enough for a rainy night. Pubs in the village are good for meals and a pint. Parking is generally good on the road outside. A lovely place for a week !

  • "The location of this little cottage couldn't be better as a central base in the village with walks, shops, cafes and pubs all within reach."

Listing needs to be really clear that this cottage does not have a back door and does not have any outdoor space (a yard or garden to let a dog out if needed). It is there in the listing details but easily overlooked - as a pet owner, I expect a pet friendly let to have attached outdoor space but it was my oversight on making this booking. That aside, this cottage is small but perfect for a couple or small family and the owner couldn't be more helpful and responsive to suggestions for additions and improvements. Beds are comfortable, kitchen is well equipped and the bathroom is modern and fresh with plentiful hot water. Loved our stay, thank you.

It was clean, well equipped and in the middle of everything. The cottage had everything we needed and more. I had great sleep, the bed was so comfy and I had a hard time leaving it in the morning Hahaha! Despite the weather pouring down pretty much every day, we had a great time exploring Ingleton and the surrounding areas. We even had trips to Kendal and Skipton! The pub, The Craven Heifer, was great! Large food portions which were tasty and good range of drinks. Lots of good places to try in Ingleton! Can’t wait to come back...but with better weather next time!
