The beds were extremely comfortable with beautiful crisp white cotton bed linen. The kitchen was well equipped with everything that you needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the cottage was central and in easy walking distance of all amenities within the village. Would definitely visit again

We inadvertently locked ourselves out on the Sunday and I rang the contact number and another set of keys were waiting in the outside key safe when we arrived back from our day out…

  • "Hi My family have stayed in the curlew cottage 6 times now."

We really enjoy the rest and the facilities it has to offer. Unfortunately, this week's visit was not so good the next door but one was having some extension work and roof renewal. The second day we where awaken by noise and a huge among of DUST, in the air due to work in this building. This went on for a couple of days, not nice, all the outside furniture, my car was covered in it. Then the work men could see what was happening and stopped.(after two days of it) So, the curlew cottage is NOT to blame ,but we should have been informed. Mr Stothard

  • "Hi Thanks for letting us stay in your place."

It was very nice but we were disappointed that the bath had no shower. Not even a handheld one for hair washing and body rinsing. With 4 of us that was a big problem and had there been 6 it would have obviously been even worse. A lock on the shower room would have been nice too. It is a big property and we are just friends sharing not a family. Having our own control of heating would have been nice too rather than having to contact you every time we wanted to adjust the temperature. It was too hot at night. The wifi was very poor. It worked ok in the kitchen but almost unusable in the lounge and totally unusable in the bedrooms. Other than that, it is a lovely place. Thanks x

Thank you for your response. We had to remove the shower head from the bathroom as there had been issues with leaks going into the restaurant below. It does only state one shower on the listing. The heating is controlled by the valves on the radiators. I take your point about a lock for the bathrooms, we shall get on to this! Many thanks Property Owner

  • "Would highly recommend."

This is a lovely little cottage, warm and cosy with everything you need and some lovely touches from the owners to make the stay special. The prosecco was much appreciated as was the logs, kindling and fire lighters left for the log burner. They even sent us instructions when we struggled to light it first time. We loved Ingleton, everything is within easy reach, great walking and super cafes, restaurants and pubs. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our only slight criticism was that the heating was on all night which made it a little warm with lovely duvets provided. Will definitely visit again. Thank you.

  • "Great cottage in lovely village."

Plenty to do locally such as hill walking, caves, waterfall walk, mountain biking and also easy access to larger towns such as Kendal and Skipton. Lots of places to eat on your doorstep as well. Owners were very responsive and the bottle in the fridge was appreciated!

  • "Fabulous cottage, comfortable and clean, great central location."

The beds were super comfy and towels very soft :) All bedrooms were a good size. We were a group of 6 people and very much appreciated the space, there's effectively an extra lounge by the front door and a nook to escape to by the stairs. Plenty of room for all our walking boots and shoes near to the front door. It was helpful having two fridges, but on balance a dishwasher would have been preferable.

Thank you for the great feedback. Property Owner

  • "Great cottage."

Wonderfully convenient for the village. Friendly people everywhere. Parking is an issue, but you can get a one week permit for £15, which is cheap compared to London. Could do with a dishwasher. Bathroomes and showers really good.

  • "We enjoyed our stay at Curlew at the weekend."

It was a great spot to use as our base whilst completing the Y3P on the Saturday. One of our over riding memories will be the incredibly sensitive smoke alarms which went off at any given opportunity. We cooked lasagne on the Friday night (without burning it!), porridge at 5.30am on the Saturday morning, and Pizza on the Saturday (again, without burning!) - we couldn’t locate the source of the problem but spent most of the time with the front door and back door open, wafting the sensors to stop the noise!!! If it was the steam from the shower upstairs then an extractor should def be installed - window was opened again but then there was no privacy!!!! Other than that annoyance we enjoyed a comfortable stay, lovely linen/towels and the well equipped kitchen. Thank you X

  • "This is a beautifully appointed cottage."

Olde worlde and quirky but with all the mod cons you require to make your stay comfortable. Inside there’s four bedrooms with a double, twin and two single rooms. The photos on the website are a true reflection of all rooms but there’s the new addition of a log burner in the spacious living room. A downstairs shower room/toilet came in really handy. A cafe is next door but we didn’t take advantage. The village centre is a mere minute or two walk away, with everything you might need during your stay, and a few things you don’t (beautiful craft and gift shops

Thank you for such lovely feedback!!! Glad you enjoyed your stay Property Owner

  • "Lovely quirky cottage with plenty of space and comfortable beds."

The living room was really cosy and it was great to have two bathrooms. My younger son really appreciated the coffee machine. We really enjoyed staying there and the only thing that stopped me from rating the facilities at top marks was the lack of some kitchen equipment (wooden spoons mainly, but scales would also have been useful) which made cooking a bit more challenging.

Thank you for your feed back. We shall purchase a few more but for the kitchen!! Property Owner

Lack of on street parking isn’t a problem - large car park just around the corner and we didn’t ever struggle to park even in the middle of August. Lots to do in the local area and a great base for exploring Cumbria and the Lakes if you want to travel slightly further.
