It was very clean and comfortable and had everything you need for the stay. Parking was at the top of the street, we didn't have a problem finding a space but it maybe wouldn't be as easy in the summer months.

  • "Lovely few days in this beautiful cottage."

Much smaller than we thought but the space was carefully thought out. Unfortunately for us one of the neighbours was having work done to their roof so we were disturbed quite a lot while we were there. However that wasn’t any fault of the owners, just one of those things. The weather was blissful throughout our stay and Ingleton did not disappoint. What a beautiful village and so many wonderful walks for us and our Patterdale Shirley from the doorstep. On the negative side we did not find the bed comfortable and there were no extras (tea, coffee, milk, welcome pack) that we are used to fir when booking with Sykes cottages. On the whole though a lovely stay in a beautiful place.

  • "We had the best weekend staying at Paul's Fold Cottage!"

The outside of the cottage is absolutely beautiful and once you enter the cottage you're greeted with a fabulous old working fireplace and comfy reclining sofa and the ticking clock was just the ticket to help me nod off! The stairs are incredibly steep and thankfully there is a piece of wood to cover the top step and another to act as a barrier to prevent any accidents. The bedroom is small and perfectly formed and the bed was really comfy. The kitchen is well stocked for everything you might need. We really couldn't fault anything and we would definitely recommend and would love to come back in the colder months to be able to have a cosy fire. Ingleton is really chocolate box pretty with pubs within a short uphill walk from the cottage and the waterfall walks are a must and if you can, Sunday lunch at the Marton Arms is definitely advisable, the food is amazing!!

  • "We really enjoyed our 4 night stay at Paul's Fold."

The property is in a good quiet location in Ingleton. Due to having some problems with our car on our journey here, we decided not to use our car during the stay, but we were able to do a different lovely walk every day setting off from the property. The property itself is compact, but had everything needed for a pleasant stay, with a very well equipped kitchen area. We slept well in the comfortable bed, and enjoyed listening to the sound of the stream that runs next to the property. The property would not be suitable for anyone with mobility problems, due to the steepness of the staircase.

It is so gorgeous and unique, in a beautiful location, right in the centre of Ingleton, next to the river. The cottage was immaculately clean and you could tell that extra covid cleaning had taken place. It had all the kitchen utentsils that we needed, plus all the cleaning items and toiletries that we needed also. The towels are super soft. We were disappointed with the poor wifi connection which meant you could only get connection sitting in bed or under the coat hooks. Yorkist range is an extra treat with a good supply of free kindling/coal to set you off and then option to purchase more. Would definitely book it again.

  • "We arrived late on the Friday and found it challenging to find the property."

After arriving at post code it wasn't obvious where the property was located. We drove around asking people but it took the 4th attempt to find someone who knew the location. In the middle of driving around I rang the owner but no answer? I suggest an added explanation on directions would be hugely appreciated by users. I know many people would not be watching TV but after a busy day and settling in for night a larger TV or at least one that the picture was clear when sitting down on sofa would be great. The heating went off on the Saturday night, after knocking on owner, a plumber was brought around and the heating was on. We had no follow up asking if ok and honestly the heating was useless, never warmed the cottage to a satisfactory heat nor the water to a hot temperature and we ended up leaving a day early. Suggest a new boiler or serviced the answer.

Thank you for your feedback. Since your feedback we have bought a slightly bigger (as big as we can fit in) and clearer TV / DVD player. We are sorry to hear that even after the heating problem was rectified you still were not happy with the heating/water. We were unaware that you still had an issue, normally guests find the cottage too warm. We have had a plumber in to look at the boiler and we do have an annual service on the boiler. Property Owner

  • "Beautiful cottage, in a beautiful town, but it needs some tlc."

The frying pans are not fit for use, they are scratched to pieces, the sofa is stained and the left recliner is broken. The heating and hot water isn't warm enough. Theres a sign saying no dogs upstairs, the booking did not say that, we would not have booked there if we had known. We struggled to find parking twice during our stay. The TV is the smallest TV I have ever seen and the remote doesn't work properly. It's also positioned so that if you're laying on the sofa you cant see the screen properly. The fridge door didn't shut properly, but the owner fixed that when we asked. The radiator in the bedroom didn't work, but the owner had that fixed when we asked. But the main issue for us was that the WIFI didn't work downstairs. Mobile data is also non existent so planning our days out and routes for the next day was impossible. We asked 3 times for this to be rectified, but apparently this wasn't an issue before we arrived...

I am sorry to hear you experienced Wi-Fi and maintenance issues during your stay at the cottage. We want you to have all advertised facilities on our website and we strive on having exceptional property standards in all Sykes properties. You have mentioned that the owner did come to fix the maintenance issues. Kindly note it is within the Sykes booking terms that pets do remain downstairs.
