“Such a homely, clean, comfortable cottage with great views and equipped with everything we could possibly need (including some nice welcoming treats from the owners).”

A stunning area with plenty of great walks to enjoy with the dogs. We've stayed here twice now and I'm sure we will be back again in the future.

The property

Positioned on the banks of the River Wear, in the small village of Ireshopeburn, is this stone-built, end-terrace cottage.

This beautiful property is well-presented throughout, with log burners, flagstone floors and exposed beams, for a traditional cottage feel.

Located on the main street, yet with a quiet atmosphere in the village, the property enjoys all the delights of the North Pennines surrounding its borders.

Share a refreshing experience with your family and friends and really make yourselves at home.

The sitting room is a charming place to relax on the plush corner sofa, warming your feet by the woodburner.

French doors lead out to the patio and bring lots of natural light into the room.

Next door is a delightful dining arrangement with another woodburning stove sitting proudly in the alcove of the room.

From here, you have a nicely appointed kitchen with sleek fittings and the staircase leads up to the three bedrooms.

A master double boasts a feature fireplace adding character to the formation, and traditional-style furnishings dress all three rooms.

Each are served by the modern bathroom, where you can indulge in a hot soak in the bath tub or wake up each morning to a refreshing shower.

Outside is a fully enclosed garden making the most of the views of green fields and sheep grazing.

Your four-legged friends are kept secure, while you sit with a cool beverage on a sunny afternoon.

This village of Ireshopeburn offers the Weardale Museum and High House Chapel, whilst the nearby village of St John's Chapel has two friendly pubs, a shop and café.

You have the market town of Stanhope also nearby with a wider variety of amenities, along with the city of Durham, boasting its imposing cathedral, Durham Castle and many shops to browse with places to eat and drink.

Being in the heart of the North Pennines AONB, you can explore a rare variety of wildlife, with walking and cycling trails in abundance.

Consider this superb getaway with your family and friends.
