  • "Charming cottage with all you could wish for."

The owners live next door and we're very helpful. They had a roaring fire ready gir our arrival plus a very generous welcome hamper including milk bread biscuits and wine!

  • "Lovely cottage that met all of our expectations."

Wonderful hamper left for us on arrival, with fresh bread, Yorkshire butter, milk, biscuits, cheese and wine. What a lovely surprise. Peacefully situated with plenty of private off road parking. Views are stunning. Owners live next door and are friendly and helpful. All the comforts of home can be found in the cottage. You don't need to bring anything but food and drink, as the kitchen has everything you need including condiments, foil, washing up liquid, tea towels etc etc. Lovely comfortable bedrooms. Wonderful surroundings with lots of great places to visit. Only half hour from The lake district too. Fabulous bakery in Ingleton village called Seasons. The cottage is close to the railway station, but we weren't bothered by any noise as trains only run every two hours. A car is necessary to visit shops etc, but they are only a short drive away. Highly recommended place to stay.

  • "We loved our stay at Wenning Bank."

The surroundings are beautiful and although the cottage is very handy for the A65 and the railway to Morecambe and Skipton, you are not bothered by either. The accommodation is very good, although the second bedroom is a little small - not that this would stop us coming back. The cottage is clean, and the locally sourced bread, butter and cheese (and wine) a very nice welcoming touch. TV signal and WiFi are both pretty good, and the unlisted DVD player a bonus (First World entertainment problems sorted). There are nice walks to be had in the area, or within about an hour’s drive, most of the highlights of the Yorkshire Dales area are easily reached. The owners George and Elizabeth are friendly and happy to let you know some tips for trips or walks from the cottage. Their two lovely dogs, cat and 4 chickens also provided brilliant distractions for us.

  • "This was my second time at Wenning Bank as I have friends who live nearby and it was just as lovely as I remember."

George and Elizabeth were very welcoming as was the welcome pack. Very convenient for the A65 to explore all that the Dales have to offer . The only moan is the paintwork is looking a little tired and worn in some places and in the main bedroom although it is a listed property, decor is a little dated and could use a modern but sympathetic update . Very quiet and stunning views. It has all the comforts away from home . I would definitely stay again.

Hopefully the New Inn will reopen soon! We were very comfortable and enjoyed the pleasant surroundings and our friendly hosts. The only negative was the low doorway to the utility room and bathroom, which issues a painful reminder if you should forget.

Excellent welcome pack provided. Cleanliness very good , excellent beds and bedding. Over the bath shower could be tricky for less agile guests.Decor a little dated but more than adequate. Really nice area to sit and dine outside with lovely views. Despite proximity to the railway , this was not intrusive. Would certainly come back. Thankyou

It was refreshing to see that the owners had invested in high quality furnishings (not skimping by using cheap or poor quality second hand furniture as some do). They had literally provided everything we might possibly need during our stay. A lovely location great for exploring the local walks, waterfalls and caves (all within a short drive away). Handy for a trip to Carlisle too via the famous Settle to Carlisle line, stunning scenery on route.

The views from the cottage are extraordinary and it was so nice to have a piece of the garden to use to enjoy the outdoor. The hosts were very helpful with giving tips and directions for small walks directly from the cottage along the river. We visited with young children so for us this was fantastic being able to explore so near to the cottage. The cottage itself is superb. Everything is neat and clean. Great beds, bedding, towels etc. It has everything you need and more. I would say that the kitchen has all utensils and convenience you possibly need. We were able to cook a bit more elaborately and bake a cake using all utensils that were available. There was a welcome basket which we found being such a thoughtful gesture. Thank you! Cottage is nicely decorated throughout and has a lot of charm and cosy atmosphere. We were so lucky with the wonderful warm Easter weather we did not use the woodstove, but that would indeed have been such a nice and cosy feature. Warmly recommend this cottage and location.
