The gardens and scenery are superb. We were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed a steady walk into the quaint village of Clapman. The cottage is a short drive from Ingleton where we visited beautiful waterfalls. A real experience of the dales made by the great stay at the cottage. Would definitely recommend

Great selection of information on the local area. Lovely owners who made us feel so welcome. Kitchen and sitting area were particularly attractive. Everything was very clean and tidy and the history of the building was also in the Welcome Pack, which was very interesting. Peaceful and plenty of space to park. A special place to stay and easy to get to stunning countryside and The Three Peaks walks.

Property well furnished and smart with great views over the countryside and a pleasant garden area. The railway station was nearby and there was no noticeable train noise. The bed was firmer than we are used to but it's a personal preference. Overall, a very pleasant week despite the weather!

Lovely welcome pack which was very helpful as due to late arrival all shops closed and limited access to restaurants. Very comfortable beds and super quality towels. Kitchen well equipped with all appliance manuals provided. The local area is peaceful but good access to places of interest and lots of walks from the cottage. This is a great area to stay and we were blessed with mostly good weather. The view from the garden is lovely but overlooks the owners garden and is not very private but realistically we did not spend much time in the garden so not a problem for us.

We would love to visit again but unfortunately I see they do not allow pets as we have a Springer spaniel and cannot always get someone to look after her so will have to look elsewhere, which is such a shame as it's 100% other than that. We were going to book again on our return , but looking elsewhere now. Such a shame. Would still recommend it to anyone.

Scenic views from bedroom windows. The views from the cottage are extraordinary and it was so nice to have a piece of the garden to use to enjoy the outdoor. The hosts were very helpful with giving tips and directions for small walks directly from the cottage along the river. We visited with young children so for us this was fantastic being able to explore so near to the cottage. The cottage itself is superb. Everything is neat and clean. Great beds, bedding, towels etc. It has everything you need and more. I would say that the kitchen has all utensils and convenience you possibly need. We were able to cook a bit more elaborately and bake a cake using all utensils that were available. There was a welcome basket which we found being such a thoughtful gesture. Thank you! Cottage is nicely decorated throughout and has a lot of charm and cosy atmosphere. We were so lucky with the wonderful warm Easter weather we did not use the woodstove, but that would indeed have been such a nice and cosy feature. Warmly recommend this cottage and location. We cannot wait to visit again.

The house itself is cosy, with a wood-burning stove, and has fantastic views over the countryside to the rear. The outside space was very private and would have been a lovely place to sit out in the evenings if our time there had been dry. Great to have the car near to the cottage in the garden too, and delightful to watch the hens and bunnies from the property. The facilities at the cottage were brilliant with everything provided for, lots of space in the utility room to dry out wet things and leave our boots etc, and even electric heaters for the evenings when it was chilly. The amount of leaflets, books, games and toys were amazing as was the welcome pack (thank you) Great that the owner came to check we were ok a couple of times and offered to put the heating on, and also that a feed back form was provided so we could put any suggestions to the owners without putting them on a review and appearing to down mark them. A great place to stay, and if we ever return to the area to see the sights we had to see in the rain ( the weather was not at all kind!), we would definitely rebook.

Follow the footpath further and wonder at the magnificent Trow Gill, before continuing past Gaping Gill (Britain’s largest discovered pothole) on the way to the summit of Ingleborough. The nearby White Scar Caves are also well worth a visit and there is a superb four-mile waterfall walk in the village of Ingleton. Clapham offers a village shop, a vintage gift shop and a bespoke wool and handicraft shop, as well as a pub, a bar and cafes.
