    The house is immaculate and everything has been thought of. My initial concerns about noise from neighbours were totally unfounded, this must be one of the quietest streets in the country. Kendal is a great base for exploring the area, it has everything you need but is nowhere near as busy as Windermere, Grasmere etc Recommend a walk up the River Kent to Staveley about 6 miles, the stretch between Burneside and Staveley is stunning and we hardly saw a sole, lunch at the fantastic Hawkshead Brewery in Staveley and then the train back.

Enter into the contemporary kitchen area fitted with sleek white units and all the essentials for a self-catered stay, with a dining table to gather around with bench seating, leading into the homely sitting area complete with a large corner sofa and a Smart TV.

Socialise in here following a busy day, or make use of the pretty enclosed rear garden for some fresh air on a sunny day with seating here.

Head upstairs to find the shared shower room where you can freshen up before settling down in your chosen bedroom, with a twin room overlooking the rear garden, and a lovely double room.

The amenities of Kendal are just a short stroll away, with the town offering something for all tastes by way of pubs, restaurants and shops, and a charming park, Kendal Green, resting near to the property.

Head to the Kendal Museum, Lakeland Museum and Kendal Castle to immerse yourself in the rich history of the area, while further afield is Lakeland Maze Farm Park, great for a family day out.

Venture down to the amazing Sizergh Castle to explore the vast grounds and walk through the grand halls of the Medieval fortress, or visit the beautiful Levens Hall with topiary gardens.

The Lake District National Park is brimming with fun things to see and do like a scenic train ride on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway, allowing you to soak up the stunning scenery without moving a muscle, or a trip to the Lakes Aquarium, home to some spectacular sea creatures including sharks!

Lake Windermere is a haven for watersports like paddle-boarding, kayaking and canoeing, while boat cruises and boat hire is easily available.

Explore the towns of Ambleside, Windermere and Bowness-on-Windermere, and why not challenge yourself and your group to an epic hike up one of the Lake District's many impressive peaks or fells?

A historic market town with a fine reputation for shopping, Kendal nestles on the banks of the River Kent and is known as the Southern Gateway to the Lakes.
