    The location at entry lane was really good and ideal as a base.the house was perfect for us and our dog was really settled and relaxed. it was very clean and presentable and had everything we needed.we made many day trips out ,but kendal was nice to look around on the morning we stayed local.would recommend staying there

    The website was easy to navigate, I didn't even need to break out our secret weapon (9 year old granddaughter!) to assist. The level and quality of communication from Sykes was spot-on, payment and receipting were straightforward, communication prior to our departure from home was again spot-on. Excellent communication from the owners, both by phone and email gave us all the information we required, including directions to what would have been an otherwise difficult to find location. The cottage was described perfectly, there is nothing that we wanted for and nothing we were disappointed in. Couldn't recommend this cottage or Sykes Holidays more highly, first class.

  • "This cottage is in an excellent location for shops, bars and restaurants being just a couple of minutes from Booths and Marks and Spencer."

    21 Entry Lane sleeps 4 but is perfect for a couple or small family. Everything was clean and fresh, beds were very comfortable and there was an excellent en-suite shower. Parking in Booths lower car park was free from 6pm - 8am, which was perfect for us as we were out early and for much of the day, parking tickets can be redeemed at Booths when buying groceries. The owners Sue and Peter did offer free parking at their premises 10mins away, but we found parking at Booths more suitable for us. Sue and Peter kept in contact with us during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed ... which we did.

    The owners, Peter & Sue, are extremely charming and friendly and made us feel most welcome on our arrival. The accommodation was absolutely fantastic. In a quiet location, it was very relaxing and well presented with particular emphasis on the cleanliness of the place; it was immaculately presented. We will definitely be booking this cottage again!

Despite the weather being rough this time of year, we managed to explore Kendal and slightly further afield, with everything being on the doorstep. Such a good location.     Very close to centre of town and supermarkets. Only negative was the lack of free parking nearby. There was parking but at a cost! We never tracked down the one space car parking slot which came with the cottage. Our fault for not contacting the owners. We liked this cottage and would use it again in future. Very clean, well equipped.

    What a shame.! The first folk not to have taken us up on our offer of free, off-street parking for one car. A few minutes drive away from the cottage and a pleasant stroll through the main market square. Property Owner

  • "Beautiful, well equipped cottage- very clean throughout."

    The cottage was also in the ideal location with Booths across the road which meant we only had to walk 20 steps to get our groceries or grab breakfast in the morning for a treat. Owners were very friendly & dropped by to bring us some milk when we arrived & as we were leaving so was easy to hand keys back. There were lots of leaflets left for us of thing to do & bus timetables etc which made exploring the area much easier. Although we don’t have a dog ourselves, it was good to know that the cottage is pet friendly for future reference too. The only thing we would suggest to look at is when the heating is on, the water gets incredibly hot and too hot too use. If this could be improved this would be great! Still a 5 star experience and hope to visit again!

    We felt it was extremely clean with everything we needed was at hand. A real “Home from home” experience. The location was perfect as we don’t drive , we could walk into the Town within minutes. We actually wanted to stay another week but couldn’t as we had to travel back with our daughter. We will for sure be back . The owners were very helpful/friendly and on hand if we needed anything.   • "21 Entry Lane is a charming and cosy cottage right in the centre of Kendal."

    There were only two of us staying and we found the place extremely well equipped, very comfortable and very quiet in spite of being so central. We like to cook for ourselves so we appreciated a well supplied kitchen with everything we needed. So often cottages don't allow for much more than using the microwave! Our hosts, Sue and Peter, were very welcoming and helpful over any little problems we had.

The property

Ideal for one or two couples or families, this delightful character stone cottage is tucked in the centre of bustling town life in Kendal, in the South Lakeland District of Cumbria.

Upon entering the cottage, you will find a small, bright open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting area, finished with a traditional decor and furnishings, including dining seating, a sofa, charming built-in cabinet details, and a warming electric coal effect fire that you can look forward to cosying up in front of.

The kitchen is well-suited for all your culinary needs, and contains an electric oven, gas hobs, integrated fridge and freezer, washing machine, and a breakfast bar with two seats.
