The property

If you fancy an evening out, venture into the centre of Grange-over-Sands, where you will find a wealth of pubs to enjoy.

When the bay walks are on you can see them set off from Arnside and walk the 8 miles across the sands and finish off at Kents Bank railway station just down the road.

Additionally, the Victorian resort houses a wide selection of excellent individual shops including bakers and butchers.

Cartmel is also handy where you can explore the stunning ancient Priory or taste the delights of sticky toffee pudding in the village shop.

The whole village comes to life during “race” weeks when the village welcomes horse-racing enthusiasts.

Alternatively, being on the edge of the Lake District National Park, the beautiful Lake Windermere is just a 15-minute driveway, where you and your loved one can enjoy a memorable day.

From lakeside, you can hop on board the Windermere Steamer and cruise up the lake to the lively town of Bowness.

The charming Edwardian resort of Grange-over-Sands is set between the Lake District fells and Morecambe Bay and offers one of the mildest climates in the north of England. Formerly a small fishing village, the introduction of the Furness Railway transformed Grange-over-Sands into a fashionable Edwardian resort. Today, the town has much to offer the visitor including a traffic-free promenade, delightful ornamental gardens, golf courses, brass band concerts and excellent bird watching. Just a short drive away are Lake Windermere (8 miles), the villages of Bowness-on-Windermere and Hawkshead, which still retain the charm and character that has endeared them to so many, and the home of sticky toffee pudding, Cartmel, with its famous racecourse and the L’Enclume restaurant, which has been voted the 4th best restaurant in the UK. Other attractions in the area include Levens Hall, with its Elizabethan Hall and world famous topiary gardens, Sizergh Castle, a National Trust medieval house and gardens, and Conishead Priory, a Gothic revival country house.
