Just spent a fantastic 3 night stay in Laburnum Cottage over the weekend, absolutely spotless and in a fantastic location. Well worth a holiday in Kirkby Stephens and stating in the fantastic cottage, will most definitely be back.

JCBScotland “Very thoughtfully prepared cottage.”
Cottage is very clean and well prepared. Fresh flowers in the bedroom are a lovely welcoming touch as are the Prosecco and chocolates and the milk for a welcome cuppa on arrival. Even being situated very close to a surprisingly busy road did not deter from our enjoyment of the property as we slept through the noise most of the time. All you need is on the doorstep, great little tearoom with lovely cakes, pubs and restaurants providing good food, plenty of walks off the beaten track and good proximity to the lakes.
david2568 “Comfortable Stay In Kirby Stephen”
We chose location, location, location due to meeting friends in area. We enjoyed our stay the apartment had great views onto the market square and beyond onto the hills. They had all the facilities including washing machine that a stay required. It was tastefully decorated and had a quirky swing chair that was enjoyed by friends who visited and by my partner. The location was convenient for The lakes and Yorkshire Moors. The town itself had enjoyable scenic walks. The Appleby Horse Fair was coming up and we saw the horses and carriages of the traveller community on route to Appleby. With the Appleby fair upcoming the nights were becoming more noisy. The owner had produced a short brochure of local amenities, restaurants and how to use the central heating system. The only down side was the initial set of stairs that were quite steep and narrow. All in all we thoroughly liked our stay and would recommend to couples.
Amy M “Perfect!”
What a gorgeous little find! My boyfriend and I have just returned from a weekend away. We literally can't fault this place! It's beautifully decorated to a high standard with lots of lovely touches such as the high quality bed and bath sheets, Denby crockery and the prosecco and chocolates upon arrival. We wanted a weekend of relaxation and this was perfect! We can't wait to return!
Furtherafield22 “Lovely apartment, great location”
What a find! A lovely clean and tidy apartment, with everything we needed for a very comfortable week. Ideal location between the Lakes and the Dales. I sleep like a log so it wasn't a problem for me, but the roadside location may be rather noisy for some as the traffic is quite busy early in the morning - the plus side is that the bus stop is right outside too! Flowers, fizz and milk on arrival were a nice touch - thank you Nigel. We'll be back - soon we hope!
Lesley R “pefect apartment”
Little gem. Modern, simple life especially, white furnishings, fresh and very clean. Located on the busy Market Square, great if you like to watch the world go by whilst relaxing in comfort. First floor beautiful double bedroom and bathroom with Jacuzzi (lovely end to a day). Plus realistic big bath sheets (pet hate if mine is tiny towels!) Upper floor open plan living and kitchen. Kitchen extremely well equipped with full size fridge freezer too. Little essentials like washing up liquid, soaps, cling film, foil etc all included. Decent sized TV with freeview and DVD s. Lovely comfy sofa to snuggle on. Plus quirky swinging chair. Loved our stay, I really didn't want to come back to real life! Highly recommended for a romantic getaway.
discerningdinerliv “Excellent hideaway”
Located in the centre of this small town with a few cafes, three pubs, multiple pretty shops and enough eateries at close hand. This property is gorgeously romantic, with excellent attention to detail - from the fresh flowers and high quality bed linen, to the luxury bathroom and well-appointed kitchen. We would highly recommend this place for a fabulous hideaway for two!
A FlipKey verified reviewer “Lovely apartment”
Apartment had everything needed. The only thing it didn't have was a washing machine/tumble dryer, which would have been useful when we came back grubby and wet from a couple of walks. The bed was very comfortable. The apartment is right in the heart of Kirkby Stephen, which was convenient for the shops and the pubs, and there were walks from the apartment or within a short drive. The wine and chocolates in the apartment when we arrived were a nice touch. The only downside was parking, which was limited next to the apartment, but there was parking in the street behind and a walk-through. If all else failed there is a public car park a bit further back a few minutes walk away. It could also get noisy at night, especially at the weekend. The pub just up and across the road from the apartment seemed to attract the youngsters, who were quite vocal a couple of nights. Also it would not be suitable for anyone with mobility problems, as there were two flights of steep stairs to get to the sitting room and kitchen and the bedroom was on the first floor. However we would certainly consider staying there again if we were in the area and we would recommend to friends and family.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed everything about this wonderful cottage. From the moment you open the door there is a calm and loving feeling about Laburnum Cottage. Everything is immaculate, luxurious and perfectly set up for a couple on a break in the Lake or Peak District. We didn't actually look too closely at the map when we booked (thought we were staying in the Lakes...) however this was a great spot with fantastic village amenities, the chip shops are goood.
Rebecca W “fantastic modern apartment”
