    The accommodations were perfect. Spotless and everything we needed for our stay. It is very central to the village and all amenities. There are a great selection of pubs and eateries as well as shops. There is plenty to do from the doorstep but also the cottage has great access to local attractions. We would definitely return.

    Everything was spot on and as decribed. Really was a home from home - lovely comfy bed, huge bathroom with bath and shower, great cooking facilities and big sofa to relax on in evenings. The welcome basket of goodies added an extra touch. Set in a quiet street with plenty of parking close by - you couldn't wish for more. Lovely village with plenty of eating places and local walks as well as a great base for touring the Lakes and Dales. Top marks - will definately be back.

    Thank you for our welcome treats. Just what we needed for a peaceful and relaxing break. Loved Kirkby Stephen which is a good base for visiting the Lakes and other local villages etc. Plenty of walks from the cottage if you don’t want to drive anywhere. Sunday lunch at The Black Bull at Nateby is a must!! The local pubs and cafes in Kirkby Stephen are good too if you just wanted a walk into the village. Will be sure to recommend and hopefully we will be able to visit again soon.

Only around half an hour drive to get into the Lake District and the property had a very useful information book for places to see, which we found really helpful to plan trips out.     The cottage has all the facilities required as being of a new re furbished cottage.There are afew issues with regards to the Wi Fi which are being addressed,but did not spoil our weeks stay at all.The parking is just a few yards across the road,which was never a problem to park,So for anybody wanting a few bnights stay in a delightful ,peaceful cottage in lovely surrounding country side ,then i would certainly recommend Macaw cottages.

    The bed was great. All newly done and decorated well. Easy parking on a quiet road very close to cottage. The village is literally 20 seconds walk away and lovely shops but cottage was equally very quiet..we slept very well. Would recommend to stay there . Good value for money and only 30 minutes from lake district.

  • "This is a little gem of a find."

    The cottage is very well appointed, clean and spacious. The bed very comfortable. The large bath was great after a days walking in the lakes. There is everything you could need to cook in the kitchen, although we made good use of a couple of the local eateries whilst we were there. The location of this property is ideal for access to the Yorkshire dales and the Lake District. We would stay here again.
