The remote location was ideal for us, and We found the surrounding wildlife very interesting, the Annexe was very clean and well provided for, " the Bed was very Comfy" a couple of small coffee tables might help, but Overall very good, PS: new Comfy Patio chairs would Be appreciated, I think, we will visit again, Stephen

  • "Great cottage in a lovely quiet location, so peaceful."

Lots to explore in the area, including coniston and Windermere lakes or for hiking up the peaks, we did the old man of coniston mountain. Great waterfall walks too. Was a pleasure to return to the knittle annex every evening, had everything you needed for cooking, cooker and grill worked perfect, large fridge/freezer. good shower/bath, nice size bathroom. Internet dropped a few times but didn’t affect our stay. Comfy bed, nothing wrong with mattress as stated in last persons review! Garden perfect for watching the sunset with great views. Would definitely return to this cottage again, owners on hand if needed and lovely friendly people. Thank you for a great home from home holiday x

  • "Perfect location - remote & surrounded by animals."

The annex was a great size & well laid out. Unfortunately for us the bed & sofa were really uncomfortable, the bed dipped on one side & had visible in-dents which resulted in us sleeping on a pillow to try & level it out, you could also feel the springs. The internet was a little hit & miss & the grill didn't work. The shower & bath were lovely. If the bed & sofa were replaced we'd be back. It was one of the cleanest places we've stayed. A pint of milk would have been nice on arrival after such a long journey - this is only the 2nd place we've stayed with no welcome/get you in pack.

  • "This is a lovely cottage & very quiet."

It is a big out of the way but if you like that I’d highly recommend it. As a tall person I did find the sofa & chair a little low but just is a minor issue from what is I really lovely and relaxing place. We would most definitely think about booking again at a different time if the year to get a different view of such a lovely place and be able to sit out and enjoy the view

  • "Just back from a week staying at The Knittle Annex & we loved it!"

Lovely cottage, spotlessly clean & beautifully decorated with everything you could need & really spacious too. Surrounded by stunning scenery with views across the fells & hills & walks direct from the doorstep. It's so quiet & relaxing; just the sound of birds & the odd sheep baa! Certainly one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in. Highly recommended; we will definitely stay here again on our next visit to the Lake District.

The annexe was airy and roomy, tastefully decorated, lovely and clean with everything you needed, and more. So pleased we chose to stay here!

  • "The annix was very clean and comfortable wll equipped with everything you need, unfortunately the listing did not put over how remote it was and it is only able to get to amenities by car, the directions were not clear enough and the signs to the annix were not on the road as stated, it took us nearly 2hrs to find the cottage because of this."

  • "A wonderful holiday home in a remote part of the Lake District."

The Knittle Annex is beautiful, and felt like a cosy home from home. There are many places to visit within a 20/30 minute drive, we visited Coniston and the South Lakes Safari Park - both lovely destinations. Make sure to take plenty of food if you intend to cook, as supermarkets are quite a distance, but there are many lovely pubs within a 5/10 minute drive from the Annex that all serve food and were delicious. Thanks so much for a lovely stay.
