This is a wonderful cottage to be enjoyed by couples, friends and small family groups.

Nestled beneath the fells, this charming holiday cottage is steeped with character over its three floors and features beams, a glorious stone fireplace, stone flagged floor and exposed stone walls.

It has been thoughtfully renovated throughout, being sympathetic to the age of the cottage but also not forgetting modern comforts.

A step down through the stable door leads into a charming, well-equipped kitchen with beams, and through to the sitting room with its stunning fireplace and warming woodburner, perfect for those chilly evenings.

Upstairs there is a lovely spacious bathroom with beams, exposed stone and glamorous chandelier lighting, ideal for having a relaxing soak after a busy day out and about.

The bedrooms include more character features and have comfortable beds and benefit from TVs.

Outside there is a small patio where you can enjoy a morning coffee whilst taking in the tranquillity and lovely views, as you plan your day ahead.

You can even walk up the lane to buy fresh free range eggs with an honesty box, for your breakfast with the footpaths being just a few yards away.

Nearby Clapham has a pub and the famous Settle-Carlisle railway passes through here, so why not hop on for a different day out?

Ingleton is just three miles away and has plenty of cafes, pubs, a river and the circular Ingleton Waterfalls Trail which takes you through woodland with falls to open fells with wonderful views en route.

White Scar Caves are also close by and the pretty market town of Kirby Lonsdale is just a 15 minute drive away with its quality pubs serving local ales and mouthwatering meals, independent shops and the famous Ruskin’s View, not forgetting Devil’s Bridge, a popular spot for photographs.

The area is a cyclist’s dream and there is also an abundance of hiking opportunities whatever your stamina levels.

This gem of a cottage is perfectly located to explore the whole of the Yorkshire Dales, the stunning Lake District and the Forest of Bowland, all these desirable locations can be reached in under an hour.

About the location

CLAPHAM

Ingleton 4 miles; Settle 6 miles.

The picturesque Dales village of Clapham is situated in the heart of the famous "Three Peaks" country. Surrounded by spectacular limestone, the Nature Trail at Clapham passes by a lake and mature woodland before reaching Ingleborough Show Cave - spectacular whatever the weather! Follow the footpath further and wonder at the magnificent Trow Gill, before continuing past Gaping Gill (Britain’s largest discovered pothole) on the way to the summit of Ingleborough. The nearby White Scar Caves are also well worth a visit and there is a superb four-mile waterfall walk in the village of Ingleton. Clapham offers a village shop, a vintage gift shop and a bespoke wool and handicraft shop, as well as a pub, a bar and cafes. The village is an ideal base for walking, climbing or potholing and horse/pony trekking, as there are numerous bridle paths in the area. An excellent centre for touring the Yorkshire Dales and the Forest of Bowland, with easy access to both the Lake District and the west coast.
