  • "Thank you for great Christmas week."

Rose Cottage is cosy and comfortable, perfect for a winter break; it is also stylish with fab modern features like the sauna. My husband and I had a wonderful stay, enjoying the wood burning stove curled up on the sofa in the evening. The village is lovely and the surrounding countryside has beautiful walks straight from the front door of the cottage.

  • "This was our third stay at this cottage as we just love the location to explore the surrounding areas ."

The cottage is lovely and comfortable and has the added bonus of the sauna to relax in after long days walking. Only dropped a star for the fact that when we arrived the front window was open and the cottage did smell musty which did wear off when the fire was lit later that evening- and there were only two pieces of wood left (luckily we had brought supplies). Apart from those little gripes we had another fantastic stay.

Hi Barry, thank you for your comments. Apologies about the window and only a few logs. The cleaner must of been in a rush to get to the next job and forgot to close the window and leave logs. These things happen. The windows are all opened while the property is cleaned to let fresh air in. We’re also sorry about the musty smell. We are aware of it. It’s a common problem in old properties. Rose Cottage was built in the 17th century. However we will work on the smell.Thank you.Laura & Tim Property Owner

Thank you Kieran. Your feedback means a lot to us. We’re very pleased you had a lovely break. The Ribble Valley is beautiful for walks. The best of them do start from the front door of Rose Cottage. We hope to see you again. Property Owner

  • "Very clean and comfortable and a good location for walks from the door and getting to other locations with a reliable 7 day bus service from Clitheroe to Nelson passing regularly."

There seemed to be a problem with the fridge when I checked in, no interior light and melting ice cubes pack. I contacted the owner, Tim, who arranged for someone to come round within a few minutes. Perhaps plug not pushed firmly into socket as the fridge worked when unplugged and plugged back in, despite interior light still not working, but that's no problem. No other issues, so a very relaxing week

Thank you very much for the positive feedback. We've addressed the interior light, the bulb needed replacing! We're glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you again. Property Owner

  • "I would have given a higher rate but unfortunately there's maintenence needed."

The drainage system seems to be poor as the shower backs up as soon as you turn it on so you end up with a fair pool of dirty water all over your feet, there's nowhere to put any toiletries within the shower and they end up in the water

Thank you for your feedback, mainly positive and we appreciate honesty. It's nice to know you found the property clean and comfortable during your stay. Unfortunately there isn't much fall on the drainage out of the shower as there is limited space within the first floor void. Something fairly common in properties dating back to the 18th century. There is a notice advising such within the cottage, but we will action investigation immediately in the instance there is an obstruction. Our contact numbers were in the property manual, we would have happily responded to you and investigated this further at the time. We take your comments on board regards somewhere to put toiletries. Constructive criticism allows us to improve. Property Owner
