The cottage is pretty and clean, and well-equipped. It was also nice to find some local bread, milk, biscuit, and fresh flowers in the kitchen when we arrived.

  • "We had a most enjoyable weeks holiday at Mount Pleasant Cottage."

The cottage was spotlessly clean and very well equipped from very comfy beds to every appliance you would ever need in the kitchen.Lindale is a delightful little village with so much to do within 30mins drive. On the road parking was never a problem and we were allowed to use the drive to unload on arrival. This part of the Lake District is very quiet and peaceful and was just what we were hoping for. Our two most favourite walks were within 20 mins drive - a walk on the Kent estuary at Arnside and a walk on top of Whitbarrow Scar. We hope to return. Thanks Nicky and Ian

Thanks Hazel, we are so glad you enjoyed staying in Lindale and we hope to see you again as there are many more walks we can recommend to you here. Thanks for the positive comments about the cottage, it means a lot to us. Property Owner

  • "This cottage is absolutely amazing and is like a little home from home."

Everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable base from which to explore the beautiful Lake District. Lots of information provided and Nicky and Ian are the perfect hosts on hand to help if you need them. Couldn’t fault the cottage I could happily live there but unfortunately, there’s no garden available but great that it’s not essential for a holiday home as you’re busy exploring. Lovely quiet little village with The Royal Oak Pub just a short walk away with lovely Sunday dinner. Try the steam train from Haversmith to Lakeside Station and then you can take a boat ride from the Lakeside and back we’ll try the boat next time. Visit Levens Hall and Grange over Sands too where there’s a Tesco and Coop. Plenty more places to visit so we’re definitely going to return. The weather was good to us too so what more could you ask. Definitely recommend and we have to all our friends

Thanks for the lovely review Beverley, and we look forward to seeing you again soon. Glad you had such a great holiday. Property Owner

Very restful and just what we needed. A great base to explore the South lakes and beyond. Well done to Nicki and Ian for a very well presented cottage with everything one could need for the perfect stay.

Thanks for your feedback Alan, and we are delighted you enjoyed the cottage. (And you were most kind leaving us presents too, we love a treat), wishing you both a very enjoyable 2022 and do come see us again. Lindale, Grange and the area is particularly beautiful in April and May with the Spring Flowers and stays pretty peaceful all year round - which we know was important to you both. Property Owner

This is a lovely corner of the Lake District and this was the ideal place to stay, both in terms of the location and the cottage. We will certainly come again and would definitely give a 5* recommendation to anyone thinking of booking a cosy cottage break at any time of year.

  • "Mount Pleasant is a lovely cosy cottage and large enough for 3 adults."

The central heating was simple to use and quickly warmed the property. Always a good test for a cottage is the shower, we were not disappointed, it was excellent. The kitchen was well equipped with everything one could need. The beds were comfortable with nice quality bedding. There were books to read (I read The Salt Path - highly recommended) and lots of OS maps plus leaflets for places to visit. There is no parking by the cottage but plenty of spaces further up the lane so that wasn’t a problem. The lane is very quiet apart from the Primary School (below the cottage) drop off and pick up times. Grange over Sands is very close with food shops, bakery and coffee shops. Recommend a walk along the promenade there and a visit to Tom & Abi’s plant nursery in the car park.

Thanks Vivien for this lovely review, and we are so pleased you enjoyed staying in the cottage and glad you read The Salt Path - a very popular book with all my walking pals. And glad you enjoyed meeting Damsel the Fell Pony, she is becoming quite an attraction here! Nicky and Ian Property Owner

  • "Absolutely the best cottage I've ever stayed in."

The hosts were lovely and had thought of everything - so many nice touches to make it a lovely temporary home - that's how it felt. Love the area as well, far enough away from the crowds in the Lakes themselves, but close enough for day trips there - but also in the other direction into the Barrow Peninsular. I can't recommend it enough!

  • "This is our 4th or 5th holiday cottage or lodge in the lakes and is probably the best."

I worried about the parking but there was always a space and the road is very wide and very quiet except when the full size bin lorry drives by. A welcome gift from the owners included bread, milk, biscuits and a full fruit bowl. The facilities were excellent. A washer drier including non bio washing detergent was very welcome. There is a pub in easy walking distance via the church yard. We have never stayed in the south lakes before but Lindale is an oasis of peace and we will be back.

We were so pleased to hear how much you enjoyed staying at Mount Pleasant Cottage and for the good review. Hope to see you again sometime. Ian and Nicky Property Owner

  • "Mount Pleasant Cottage is a lovely well equipped cottage for three in a quiet village ideally located for access into the Lake District for walking and other attractions."

We found road parking a bit of a lottery around the local school drop off and pick up times but apart from that we were able to park within 20m of the cottage most of the time. The owners Nicky & Ian live to the rear of the cottage and were very keen to help and advise on all matters 'Lake District' and made sure we didn't want for anything. Overall a great week.

Thanks Scott and Julie for the great review and 100% - so great to hear that folks are enjoying our cottage. Hope to see you again sometime over here. Nicky and Ian Property Owner
