  • "This is a lovely property."

The furnishings are very good quality and the bed was the most comfortable one I have ever slept in. I could have made use of a larger pan, e.g. a skillet to cook couple of steaks in. The bathroom was very nice with good storage room. I would definitely stay here again.

  • "I wonder if it should be noted that rather loud deliveries are made during school times between 5am and 7am, which is disturbing."

The TV will require an HDMI lead to show DVDs. The TV does have a Netflix account registered to it. One of the bulbs in the lounge blew while we were there The pots and pans were a bit limited. Could do with a larger frying pan and another pyrex dish. The basement is much too cold at this time of year to eat in and there is no way to heat it. Otherwise we had a lovely time, thank you.

  • "Cottage was very clean and comfortable and in an ideal situation to tour both the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District."

Sedburgh is a very friendly village with a couple of good restaurants and pubs, also a lovely coffee shop and icecream parlour - and fabulous fish and chip shop! Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again

  • "Excellent base for a walking holiday in the Howgills."

Property was well equipped and very comfortable. Restaurants are good, but some are expensive. Just a couple of things. The owners obviously follow the reviews because one review said there was no hairdryer and now there is!! Just a change needed to the description as there is no dishwasher as mentioned. Not a problem though. Really enjoyed our stay and lucky to get free parking on Back Lane. Local bus to Kendal good.

Thank you for the feedback. I'm really pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay and were comfortable at Workshop Cottage. I have checked all the information and there is no mention of a dishwasher. Washing machine yes but no dishwasher. Glad to hear this didn't impact your stay. Property Owner

  • "The directions for the property are not accurate, they say you enter via Main Street but this is not correct , did a lot of circling round before finding the way in, and my wife had to move pallets on out the way to get the car in her holiday , not happy."

Thank you for the feedback, I am very sorry to hear that you had trouble finding the property. The property address is Main Street but access is gained from the rear as stated in the directions. I have double checked the directions to make sure this is clear for future guests. I do hope you managed to enjoy the rest of your stay. Property Owner

About the location

SEDBERGH

Kendal 12 miles; Hawes 15 miles.

Sedbergh (pronounced Sed-Ber), set at the foot of the dramatic and wild Howgill Fells, is an ancient market town in northern Dentdale. Sedbergh is situated just inside the Yorkshire Dales National Park and is only 12 miles from the Lake District National Park. The town, with its narrow streets, little shops, traditional pubs, famous school dating back to 1525 and its 12th century church, has an olde worlde atmosphere. Leading from Sedbergh is Dentdale, the jewel of the Yorkshire Dales with its rolling hills and dry stone walls, stretching 14 miles from the windswept moors below Whernside to the confluence of the Rivers Dee and Rawthey. At the centre of the dale is Dent, with its cobbled streets, which has existed since Norman times and nearby Dent railway station is on the renowned Settle-Carlisle railway line. There are three golf courses nearby, as well as tennis, riding, and fishing, and the area is a paradise for walkers, ramblers, runners and cyclists. This, together with the tranquillity of the surrounding valleys, the two National Parks and it being England's book town, makes an ideal year-round holiday destination.
