  • "The cottage is easily located and well situated for exploration of the local area or going further afield."

The cottage itself is lovely, very comfortable and well looked after. The enclosed gardens (front and back) were a real bonus for our little dog, even though the weather wasn't the best. The facilities provided were all functional, clean and well looked after, the only improvement I would suggest is for a 'shaving' mirror to be placed over the sink in the bathroom. The other thing I think is worth highlighting is car parking .. there is a parking space, but it is very tight getting in and out .. anything such as a 4X4 or SUV or similar simply would not fit.

Jacquie is such a lovely and generous host and on hand if needed. Being Winter we enjoyed the log burner every night for which we had plenty of logs. The A65 which runs through Long Preston is busy but on the plus side it makes driving to Skipton or Settle very convenient. Having the train station down the road also makes it handy if you fancy the famous Settle - Carlisle route.

  • "Good location and very convenient for pub/shop/station, it was also generally very comfortable and cosy."

Kitchen was extremely well equipped. Very welcome touches were the bottle of wine, bread, milk and eggs. There could have been a bit more kindling/matches for the fire and the toilet seat was a bit loose/wonky, light outside porch was dim and gate onto road was broken but these were only minor issues. Overall a great/memorable stay.

Ideally situated between Skipton and Settle so a great base. The welcome pack was greatly appreciated. The owners were extremely helpful and accommodating throughout the booking to ensure we had everything we would need. The only slight issue we had was trying to get in and out of the second car as there wasn’t much space at all. Top tip - reverse the second car in, it made it so much easier.

The owners left a lovely welcome pack. Good location and not far from Skipton, Malham Cove, Ingleton Falls etc. There is only one small shop and pub in the village, but there is a slightly larger village with more amenities within a 5 minute drive. The station is a 3 minute walk away and I went to Skipton on the train while my family walked Malham Cove. I would stay here again.

Kitchen was well equipped with everything working and in good order. Lounge was comfortable and the tv had Freeview which is always useful to have. The bed in the main bedroom was super comfortable and there was plenty of space for clothes storage. Shower in the bathroom was easy to operate and nice and hot. We have 2 dogs, so it was good that the back garden area was fenced off (though bigger dogs might be able to leap over it). There are 2 parking spaces and once we arrived we didn’t use the car until we went home, as the rail station is about 3 minutes walk away, and there are buses in the village centre about a 4 minute walk away. The owner left us a small basket which included wine, bread, milk, cake, shortbread and treats for the dogs ! We would definitely stay there again.

Walks from the house were great. All once through the village on very quiet lanes and tracks and the routes we used were very well described. Some styles were a little difficult if you had a six stone dog like ours getting on in years. For future reference for anyone going to stay, the human one contained bread, milk (four pints), one mini bottle each of white, rose and red wine, cakes, biscuits, ground coffee and eggs! The tea, coffee and sugar canisters were all filled up too. The canine one contained two bowls, poo bags, towel and a full jar of biscuits! Never stayed anywhere that was so generous! Was a nice warm cottage with wood burner too of which there was coal and wood to use. Good walks from the cottage which was great so at least Zak had a good one first thing so whatever we did for the rest of the day we knew he was ok should another not be forthcoming, this was only the case on one day. You need to be on the lookout for sheep though, the stone walls made good barriers but every now and then sheep would appear where they hadn't been the day before and you would realise there were no walls or water in between. Two good pubs minutes away, we ate in both, Maypole and Boars Head which we ate in twice, good food, generous portions. Plenty to do in the area, Ingleton Falls and Bolton Abbey we particularly enjoyed, Zak has never been so well walked! All in all a thoroughly enjoyable holiday and Storm Gareth did not interfere too much! Days planned around the weather and we found plenty to do. Would recommend this cottage and the area.

  • "A fantastic cottage in a great location for exploring the southern dales."

We were met with a warm welcome from the owner together with two generous welcome packs, one for us and one for our dogs. Cottage well equipped throughout and spotlessly clean and warm with a log burner in the lounge. Great location for exploring the dales. Two dog friendly pubs serving quality food within a few minutes walk from the cottage. We have already rebooked another stay in this cottage next year.

  • "The booking process was straightforward."

I had previously spoken to customer service, and the agents were very helpful. The vendor of the cottage called me in advance to go through some details, and she prepared a thoughtful welcome hamper - even adding special items for my pet cat to enjoy her stay too! Really happy with the holiday, and would recommend both the site and the cottage.
