We particularly liked the downstairs shower room which was useful to put our muddy boots in after a wet walk. Pub across the road is the friendliest we’ve ever visited.

  • "Lovely cosy cottage with the most comfortable bed."

Great location to explore. The Sundial pub across the road food was excellent (only open Thursday to Sunday) High Benton had some further nice pubs only a mile away. Welcome hamper a lovely surprise, great log burner with good supply of logs. Very dark and quiet at night to sleep. Certainly highly recommend this property and great owners.

The hamper and fresh flowers were a lovely touch. The cottage is situation in a convenient location for exploring the Lakes and Yorkshire. Situated over the road is a lovely pub (The Sundial) which does great beer and food and a short walk up the road to High Bentham leads to another good pub that also does good beer and food (The Coach). Great short break and we will be back no doubt.

It was a lovely touch to have a hamper waiting for us and the cottage was well equipped and welcoming. We found the walks books very helpful. It was a shame the pub across the road was not open at the start of the week. Really enjoyed our stay thanks.

  • "Excellent property."

Easy check in and out. Personal touches such as welcome hamper much appreciated. Well situated and cosy home. Easy parking. I don't think I would be able to suggest any improvements. Locals were super helpful and friendly and the Sundial pub was just a staggering distance away! I am not sure if the original listing mentioned the steep stairs and low beam to access the stairs. That might be tricky for some guests to negotiate. No complaints. Woukd recommend and be happy to visit again.

  • "A lovely cottage with everything you need for a really comfortable stay for two, four people might struggle though as bathroom upstairs is an en suite, but a lovely downstairs shower room too."

The beds were so firm & comfortable we both slept so well. The cottage is really nicely furnished with 2 very comfortable sofas in the lounge. The photos don't do this lovely cottage justice, it is actually nicer in real life and that's rare! The welcome hamper was such a lovely touch and very generous. Apple TV was nice to have too. The cottage is very close to popular walks and towns, and the local pub (Sundial) is friendly and food good. Nothing to dislike about this place but a few things might be helpful to mention: Great Lavazza coffee pod machine and the coffee is really good, (better than Nespresso!) but we could not find anywhere to buy the pods which was frustrating - might it be an idea to suggest where guests could buy them locally or offer an honesty box where guests could pay to get more pods? There is a detached garden, as stated and it is really pretty. Perhaps more signage to the garden might be useful as, to get to the garden you have to go past a neighbour's garden which is all open with no fencing at all. Luckily she was gardening when we took the dogs out (she hates dogs too) so we had a friendly chat & kept our dogs off her garden. But it is a problem (especially if she's not in her garden) as dogs will naturally walk onto the first bit of garden they see. Sadly the neighbour refuses to put up a fence & is not happy that guests dogs naturally wander into her open garden as there is no fencing. We strongly suggest she puts up some sort of wicker fencing or something with a sign on her low wall to avoid future problems. It didn't detract at all from our stay as we found a lovely walk just opposite the pub to take the dogs for early morning and evening walks. The fluffy hens and ducks in garden opposite are a delight, as are the lovely little children feeding them every morning. Absolutely charming place and highly recommended! We'd love to come back for longer!

  • "A delightful cottage."

Cosy, quaint and tastefully modernised but full of original features. Loved the decor too. Facility- wise it had everything inside that you needed and more. If you are tall be prepared to duck through two of the doorways! If you have a crazy dog with you- be warned it could jump straight into the shallow brook behind the back door, and there are ducks in there. Low Bentham has lovely walks on the doorstep, but also a very good central place for reaching the dales, the lakes and even Blackpool. Would recommend.

It's only problem is the parking. If you have kids or a dog or both then loading and unloading and having to park away from the cottage is a pain. The neighbours are not at all helpful is this matter as well. The parking is explained in the listing but the free car park does get full and then the parking becomes a problem.
