    Location was perfect for us. Remotely located yet 5 mins away from the main roads allowing us to explore all the parts of The Lake District that we wanted to visit. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean, comfortable & had everything in it that we needed. Little goats in the field right next to us were an added bonus

  • "A very beautiful place to stay at a picturesque spot between the valleys and Lune river."

    The property is well maintained and is easy to approach off the motorway. Spacious property with underfloor heating. Nice sit outs with view of the valley and the river. Great walks around the cottage down the river. Small play area for kids as well. There is noise from the motorways and train track but there is hustling sound of the river as well, so it did not bother us much and very much enjoyed the natural surroundings here. Kevin is a kind host and is easily approachable at al times. Wifi is slow, I understand Kevin is working on it as it has a difficult terrain for the cables to be laid. We thoroughly enjoyed the property for our needs.

  • "The location of Riverbank cottage is simply stunning, yes there’s a little road noise but the beauty of the place far outweighs this and the owner was extremely helpful with local knowledge and allowed us to walk for miles around their farmland."

    I highly recommend this cottage but if I had to find a negative I would say you need to take more cutlery and crockery if you are cooking for a family of four as there is only one item per person so found myself washing up for desert etc but a tiny suggestion in what was otherwise perfect.

    Cannot fault it at all. The views were splendid and even though the motorway and railway line are close by they really did not distract or disturb. Kevin was on hand to answer any questions. One slight modification or suggestion would be to put a shelf in the wet room for storage of soap bags etc.

  • "Loved this cottage - the photos didn't do it justice."

    it was a lot more spacious inside with magnificent views. We were greeted on arrival by Kevin (just happened to be there when we arrived) Very friendly host, explained about the cottage and area - told us to go wherever we wanted with our dog on his land and pointed out some walks. Recommended the two pubs in the village which didn't disappoint. During the tail end of storm Dennis - the cottage was warm and cosy throughout. Had all the crockery/ utensils you could need during your stay. My son even managed to get out to play football and basket ball in the game area outside - he was very pleased with that. My daughter was more impressed with the wet room area and under floor heating throughout the cottage. The cottage was exceptionally clean. Have already been asked for the details of it from my posts on Facebook . Would definitely recommend again.

  • "Had a long weekend her with a toddler and a dog and it was absolutely fantastic!"

    The cottage had great views of the river, and the goats and their kids were right outside our window. My daughter also loved being so close to the horses and sheep on the farm. The cottage was really cosy and large too. If you need it, the property has wifi and you'll have full phone signal. It's in the perfect location and is easy to get to. There's also easy access to walks and the river. We'll be coming back here!

  • "We enjoyed our time at the cottage, the goats were really fun, but there was no wi-fi, so until the wi-fi is fixed, please make sure people know it is not available, we wouldn't have booked if we didn't think there was going to be no wi-fi."

  • "We had a extremely relaxed holiday it was just perfect!"

    The cottage was in a beautiful prime position the layout was well thought out a typical home from home feel we enjoyed the friendly goats and their Kidd's the sheep the ducks and her young on the river the different species of birds all on our doorstep not forgetting the nest with her young we went to the lakes Windermere was just breathtaking! The villages all with places of interest and the scenery was spectacular and the walks we had with leo our lhaso apso was just incredible! Kevin the owner was very friendly and helpful who was there to offer advice he welcomed us as soon as we arrived our holiday will be memorable we was sad to leave we will be returning next year thank you for this wonderful experience Janet &John

  • "River Bank is a delightful cottage situated on the banks of the river Lune."

    The owners, Kevin and Andrew, are very easy going and welcoming - eager to ensure the holiday is enjoyed to the full. There is a good comfortable atmosphere around the four cottages - ideal for a stress-free break. River Bank cottage has all the amenities, especially for disabled, and has a balcony overlooking the river. The area is very beautiful, quiet and relatively unknown as everyone heads for the Lakes. Although the M6 is close by it does not seem to disturb the setting. River Bank cottage is highly recommended.

    The owners are caring and welcoming and like to drop by and see everything is ok. The Goats are entertaining and we were in time for the lambs being born which was great to see. The setting is nice and peaceful. A most enjoyable and relaxing week.

The property

A heart-warming cottage located near the village of Tebay providing guests with a home-away-from-home.

The open plan living/dining area is perfect for socialising through the day and you can cosy up on the sofa in front of the charming fire come evening.

For some 'me time' the conservatory is a pleasant little escape for sitting back in the peace and quiet and admiring the views over the river.

The twin and king-size bedroom are a beautiful place to settle down for the night and the family wet room is complete to a high standard.

TEBAY

Kendal 13 miles; Penrith 17 miles; Windermere 19 miles.

The charming old village of Tebay sits near the eastern fringe of the Lake District National Park. The village itself winds its way along the edge of the main thoroughfare and the traditionally whitewashed Cross Keys Inn has been there for 500 years or more. The inn is reputedly haunted by the ghost of the Tebay Witch, Mary Baynes. Along with its better-known neighbours of Kendal, Sedbergh and Appleby-in-Westmorland, the area is surrounded by lovely rolling countryside and beautiful scenery. Nearby Orton has a local pub serving good food, a Post Office/shop, tea rooms and the famous handmade chocolate shop. A lovely village green surrounded by 17th and 18th century cottages adds to its charm and there is a farmers' market in the village square on the second Saturday of every month. Take a short drive and discover the unspoilt lake of Haweswater, or take advantage of the excellent road links to the Lake District, the Eden Valley and the Yorkshire Dales.
