  • "Just back from an amazing week at Usherwoods Barn."

The cottage is absolutely perfect - immaculately clean, very well stocked with everything you could possibly need for Xmas and a stunning sitting room - the perfect setting for our Xmas dinner! Our dog loved the garden and we loved the fire - thank you so much. We will definitely be back!

  • "Lovely spacious and elegant sitting dining room was really great to share with friends."

Three sofas around the wood burner gives loads of comfy seating for everyone. Nice big kitchen with plenty of work space and a second dining table. We like to cook. The equipment was reasonable but one or two basics missing. Potato peeler & rolling pin. Minor thing really. The dish washer didn't wash brilliantly and was really noisy. Great secure garden for the dog with the most amazing views. Very cute pet wallabies at the front. Good information file and Friendly owner next door. Great walks straight from the front door. Almost perfect Holiday cottage.

Possibly with the best view in England! Totally 5 star in every way, beautifully furnished, with quality, comfortable sofas, beds and duvets, and huge fluffy towels. Stunning stone floors with fabulous underfloor heating which stayed warm all night, better than mine at home! Everything is provided and a nice, safe, enclosed garden that my dog couldn't escape from. Off the beaten track, so away from any noise or light pollution - walked my dog in the mornings, before heading out for the day, with no other people or cars about, only the sound of curlews and the odd hare bobbing about. A stunning location and fabulous sunsets. I couldn't recommend this house highly enough, Fiona was just next door to provide any help, but wasn't intrusive and left us a lovely welcome pack including fresh eggs from her chickens. Would definitely return!

5 people 1 large dog(American bull), plenty of room we didn’t get under each other’s feet. the accommodation/facilities were absolutely as described. Handy welcome pack & milk on arrival, a nice touch. To say how spacious the barn is it kept lovely & toasty warm, underfloor heating in the porch/front door area was a treat for the feet after kicking off (sometimes wet/muddy) walking boots. Same with showers/bath, all hot & worked a treat. Beds/pillows comfy. The main bedroom with toilet/shower has a quirky floor level/foot level window...perfect for dogs to lay & nosey out of. For us everything was clean & good. Plenty of parking outside the barn. There’s an enclosed pretty long, narrow garden, we still kept our dog leaded up as she could’ve jumped the walls/gate if she’d really wanted to. We met the lady owner who lives next to the barn but doesn’t intrude at all, she is on hand for extra logs or info on the local area etc. The grounds of the barn are lovely, great to see wallabies- our dog was very intrigued with them. We went to the Co-op in High Bentham for any supplies, it’s a 5minute drive or 3mile walk (we did walk it there & back one of the days). Would recommend & would return.
