  • "Everything was very good, but the heating control was unsatisfactory and it was frustrating that we could not turn it on when required, and then it would come on at its own volition when it was not required."

Would have been very uncomfortable if the weather had not been reasonably pleasant.

It’s very nice, very clean, with good quality furnishings and plenty of space for 2. The bed is huge and really comfortable, great shower too. Location is brilliant right in the centre of Malham so ideal for walking and for the 3 pubs. We look forward to staying again. Thank you

Very convenient for the places we wanted to visit and lovely pub and cafe in the village. Found the little store shed very useful for our bikes.

  • "It was nice to find somewhere that did not allow dogs."

As I have no working immune system, dogs are a huge no-no. Everything was very clean and the bed extremely comfortable. Despite the continual rain whilst we were there, we enjoyed our outing to Grassington's Dickensian event, and our limited local walkabout.

  • "The cottage was excellent and extremely well equipped and comfortable with top quality fittings throughout and more than met our expectations."

We couldn't find fault with anything. It is one of the best holiday homes we have ever stayed in and is located in what we think is the most stunning part of the Yorkshire dales. The only downside which is actually nothing to do with the cottage is that we found the food in both pubs in the village disappointing, particularly The Buck, and if we go to Malham again we will eat elsewhere.

  • "The Threshing Floor at Tennant Farm is absolutely fantastic."

Very comfortable self-contained holiday apartment, extremely carefully and tastefuly furnished to a high degree. Excellent abd very effective heating system, spacious bedroom and bathroom and a cosy kitchen-diner. Highly recommended. Ideal for walks from the doorstep. The property is sandwiched between The Lister Arms and the Buck Inn, two different pubs with a different styles of cooking, but both worthwhile. Spotlessly clean on arrival and easy to keep clean during our fortnight's stay.

  • "The Threshing Floor was beautifully furnished and excellently equipped."

We were fortunate enough to be the first guests following the refurbishment, which has been completed to a very high standard and with great attention to detail. The bedsheets were Egyptian cotton; there is a large built-in wardrobe in the bedroom, and the kitchen had every possible utensil and appliance we could need. The property is cosy, atmospheric and very tastefully decorated. It has a lovely position within the village of Malham, close to two pubs offering good food. We would definitely like to return.

About the location

Settle 7 miles; Skipton 12 miles.

Situated at the head of Malhamdale amidst superb open limestone countryside, the picturesque village of Malham is a magnet for visitors to the Dales who come to see one of Britain's most impressive natural features - Malham Cove. The Cove consists of a natural cavern or 'amphitheatre' of limestone rock stretching 75 metres in height and 300 metres around the perimeter. A steep walk up man-made steps is rewarded with a superb view across moors and limestone pavements to Malham Tarn - the Pennines' highest natural lake. The village itself has pubs and tea rooms and a National Park Centre. Mountain bike hire can be arranged locally. There is excellent walking in all directions, making Malham a great base for a Dales holiday.
