A lovely immaculate cottage which is equipped with anything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. All you need to pack is your clothes and some food, everything else is already at the house (pots, pans, washing up, bin bags etc.) The owners are lovely and have just the right amount of interaction with you. Location is great, within easy reach of so many places. Would 100% recommend.

Top quality accommodation and furnishings. Spacious. Quaint. Feature beams etc. Fresh flowers!!!!!!!! Bed super comfortable in the master suite. So beautifully dressed when we arrived I was afraid to sleep on it! Owners really lovely couple that we didn’t see much of but if we asked them anything by text they got back to us straight away. Courtyard garden was a good size and a sunny spot with an area for disposable barbecues to be used, we didn’t however. Table and chairs and sunbeds! We used the local Co-Op for buying or groceries and wine etc. Bigger supermarkets are about 30 miles away! Loved meeting the calves, bull, bullock and shorthorn cows, especially Violet

  • "We absolutely loved this property."

We stayed for a couple of nights for a family wedding. My elderly parents were with us so the ground floor en-suite bedroom was perfect for them. This cottage is spotlessly clean, every little touch thought of and really tastefully decorated. We had dinner the night before the wedding in the local pub (which even my parents could walk to) and that was really nice too. We met the owners on arrival and when we left and they were so nice and helpful too. I really cannot fault anything - having such a fabulous base to get ready for such an important family event was the icing on the cake. Thank you for our perfect stay.

The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed using the wi-fi and Netflix on the television. Plenty of hot water, large, soft towels and a well heated shower room added to our enjoyment. Possibly we could have benefited from a grab bar or non-slip base as the shower tray was a little slippery, but we were cautious! We would definitely visit again: it was one of the best cottages we have rented.

  • "I stayed at the Dairy Cottage for 5 nights."

Seldom have I stayed somewhere and not desired to return to my own home, but I think this was the exception. Dairy Cottage is on a farm, it is essentially betwixt the Lakes and the Dales, and this was a major factor in booking it, and neither places are too far away. Following Google's directions will get you lost, so speak to David for the directions, instead! Nonetheless, it's not too far from the local town and the co-op is about a 3-4 minute drive down the road, as well as there being a well love Pub right around the corner. Upon arriving, I found the cottage to be exactly, and I mean that earnestly, exactly as described, inside and out. It was wonderfully clean and tastefully decorated to a high standard, much as you might expect at the more expensive hotels in the centre of a large city. The difference was that it was very much a home, and I felt as such for the entirety of my stay. Despite staying during Storm Arwen, the cottage is well insulated and the heaters were great, but the best parts of the night were putting on the stove, which works brilliantly. There is everything in the kitchen you'd need for a meal proper and all of it works as intended. The bedroom I mainly stayed in was the master, and the mattress was perfect for my back, comfortable and welcoming, and the pillows were very soft! The bathrooms are small exercises in pulchritude and the showers are strong and warm quickly. As you are on a farm, you should expect to hear the cows sing now and again, but it is not intrusive. Lastly, David and Julie were the best of hosts. You made my stay one that was memorable and warm, and I'm thankful for how generous and kind you are. I would, and indeed will recommend the Dairy to anyone and everyone seeking a cottage or place to stay. Of all the places I have visited, this was the best. Thank you.

Dave and Julie and their cowman, David, are extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. They even took time out of their busy lives to put up with me seeing their cows and explaining how the farm had worked when it was a dairy. • "The cottage was lovely and I think actually nicer than in the pictures."

It was warm, cosy and beautifully decorated to a very high standard. There there were only a few downsides: - the directions on the app and email were not very detailed at all and not clear where we should go at the end of the lane. There needs to be far more detail on there as, if a local man hadn't seen us and directed us, I would have had to ring the owner/contact to find out where to go - similar to the above, there was no signage to show that Dairy Cottage was down the lane. There was a small sign saying 'private lane, no access' or something similar but this is where we needed to go! - the parking is very tight and not helped when the owner of the farm opposite parked their car opposite the driveway. - given that everyone needs to wash their hands more, I was surprised not to find any soap at any of the sinks (apart from a small pack of miniature toiletries in the upstairs shower room.) Sanitiser was available but not soap which I thought was odd
