  • "Absolutely beautiful and comfortable place to stay."

There was 20 of us and no one had any issues or complaints. I will be looking to rent this place in the future and recommend it to lots of people.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us such a great review! It's lovely to hear that guests have had such a wonderful time when staying at our properties. Marine House is perfectly located and within easy walking distance to all local amenities Southport has to offer and of course the sandy beach so is popular with multi-generational families as has something for everyone. We look forward to welcoming you back! Kindest Regards Julie Property Owner

  • "Marine House gets an easy 5 star rating from me ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Firstly, and most importantly to my family, the whole house was immaculate."

Every single room. Crisp white bedding and the most comfortable beds. It’s an 11 bedroom, 10 bathroom house with a hot tub in the garden. The location is perfect, a few minutes walk to Lord Street, a few minutes walk to Funland Arcade on Marine Drive and all the other attractions on the drive. We were very lucky to book the same weekend of the Southport air show (didn’t know this when we booked) and we watched most of the air show from the front step - there how good the location is. We were worried about parking spaces but there was no need to. 16 in our party (4 young children) and we came in 7 cars. We all go parking directly outside the property. Finally, the host Julie is lovely. Great communications and a really personal service. I would 100% recommend Marine House. We are definitely coming back

Wow....Thank you so much for an amazing 100/100 review. I'm so pleased you had a wonderful time with all the family. Marine House is in the best possible location within easy walking to all the amenities Southport has to offer. We'd love to see you their again! Kindest Regards Julie Property Owner

About the location

SOUTHPORT

Ainsdale 4 miles; Ormskirk 8 miles; Formby 8.5 miles.

Southport, along with its neighbour Ainsdale, lies on the coastline where the Irish Sea meets North West England. The town was founded in 1792 when an innkeeper, William Sutton, built a bathing house at what is now the south end of Lord Street, the main road running through the town. The town was small and not very widely populated until the turn of 19th century, when it became popular with tourists due to the easy access it provided to Leeds and Liverpool Canal. It quickly expanded and now boasts the second longest pleasure pier in the British Isles, the Southport Pier Tramway and Lord Street, an elegant, tree-lined shopping destination. From Birkdale to Woodvale, sand dunes stretch along the coastline and in Ainsdale in particular, the dunes have now been listed as a National Nature Reserve and a designated Ramsar site. The coastline stretches for 22 miles, with plenty of beaches to be discovered, making this classic seaside resort the perfect place to relax and unwind. There are scenic parks and gardens to explore, fabulous shopping opportunities, an exciting nightlife, as well as a mouth-watering array of restaurants and traditional seaside amusements. Stroll down the UK’s oldest iron pier and try the old penny slot machines in the Pavilion, or ride traditional carousels at Silcock’s Funland. Family attractions include Splash World, Martin Mere and Farmer Ted’s, while The Atkinson, an £18 million arts venue, is set in a Grade II listed building hosting a variety of visual and performing arts events. Southport’s extensive events programme includes the World Musical Fireworks Championships, the Southport Food and Drink Festival, Southport Air Show, Southport Flower Show and the Southport Jazz Festival. It is part of England’s Golf Coast and is home to seven championship courses, including Royal Birkdale, which hosted The Open Championship in 2008. In a great spot for a beach break, there really is something for everyone!
