Within east driving distance into Ulverston & of course all of The Lake District. We found the notes from the owners very helpful & thorough, hopefully we will return.

"Our break away at thimble cottage was very pleasant indeed."
Absolutely stunning location. The cottage itself was warm cosy and inviting if I was going to fault anything about our stay I would say please change the shower because it was rubbish scolding hot for 5 secs Luke warm for 5 secs then freezing cold for a minute. Sorry for nit picking oh and the towel rail did not work other than that superb. Regards Ruairi.

"Wow! What a fantastic week spent in a beautiful corner of Cumbria."
Ewedale is pictureque, perfectly situated for exploration of the Lakes and South Lakeland coastlines and we would highly recommend a stay. The owners are very welcoming and clearly run a tight ship (clearly labelled facilities including a great recycle shed) with everything you need within the cottage (e.g. a fully equipped kitchen and very comfortable bedding) and they leave you to unwind after a day of adventures, without any intrusion. Thank you for a glorious week, we would love to come back!

"The cottage is beautiful, it’s really well kept and you can tell a lot of love, time and money has been invested in it."
Would definitely recommend. In a lovely quiet area but close by to local amenities.

"Absolutely loved our stay at thimble cottage."
The bed is so comfy, and the rest of the cottage is extremely cosy. Owner Steve is extremely welcoming and kindly had a small bottle of milk and a bottle of wine waiting for us on arrival. My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay so much that 2 nights into it, we had booked to return again two months later. Would definitely reccomend.

"Thimble Cottage is very well presented and comfortable."
It is located in a very rural setting and offers easy access to the Southern Lakes area and lower Lake District. There are friendly cat visitors which we found delightful. A secluded patio and relaxed atmosphere at the farm made the holiday a very enjoyable experience. Ulverston is close by and a lovely small town.

"Lovely comfortable cottage in a quiet, beautiful location."
The wine and milk left for us were a nice thought, and we found everything we could need for a relaxing weekend in the lakes. Thank you!
-
"Lovely cottage with everything you could need for a self-catered stay."
Only issue was steep narrow stairs which previous reviews had already mentioned. Underfloor heating was great and much needed after a day outdoors, but sometimes the thermostat went a bit crazy and repeatedly clicked on/off which was a little annoying at night!
-
"The accommodation was very good."
Nice quiet location. Warm welcome. Only downside might be the steep narrow stairs to the mezzanine bedroom.
-
"An ideal location for venturing into the lakes and visiting Barrow in Furness, Walney island and Morecambe bay."
Unfortunately winter holidays in the lakes can be tricky with ice and snow, so be prepared for the worst.........
-

-
