we would recommend it to anyone , we even said we could live there . It is the middle of nowhere so as long as you like being isolated it’s perfect

  • "This was our 3rd time visiting the Lake District and this was by far the best cottage we’ve stayed in."

The private driveway makes parking pleasant with easy access to the cottage. The cottage looks as beautiful inside as it does on the outside. Beautifully decorated with homely touches throughout the cottage. Very clean and spacious. A well equipped kitchen with everything you need. We were welcomed with a hamper with all the essentials (milk butter eggs bread and delicious homemade brownies- best I’ve ever had!). The owners were kind and very helpful. Our favourite features was the log burner which was perfect for rainy days/ cosy nights in and the bathroom was lush with a stunning roller top bath. Couldn’t fault a thing. Would love to come back.

  • "This is a lovely cottage - cosy, with lots of very thoughtful touches including plenty of lamps, blankets, cushions etc."

It has a very well-equipped kitchen, comfortable furniture and very good facilities including TV. Really nice bathroom and great to have robes and slippers provided. The outside space is good, although the pay-off of having such a high level of privacy is the lack of a view (due to the high walls). We found it to be a sun-trap (indeed, a parasol or other shade would be welcome) and the hot tub is fantastic. It's in a great location, a short drive to the lovely village of Haverigg and a mile and a half's walk across the fields to Silecroft Beach. Overall we're really happy with our stay and the owners were available without being at all intrusive.

  • "A stunning holiday cottage, perfect in every way."

We received a lovely welcome hamper, with bread, butter, jam, eggs and amazing homemade brownies (best I've ever had). A lovely welcome card from the family. There was a beautiful vase of white roses on the dining table. Gorgeous products to use in the bathroom and a hand-wash in the kitchen. The cottage is lovely throughout, furnishings, lighting, everything you need in the kitchen. Everything is perfect! Definitely, our happy place! A big thanks to Toni and Mike for a lovely holiday!

  • "Such a stunning cottage."

We were welcomed with a lovely homemade welcome pack by the hosts Toni and Mike, which included the most amazing brownies. The hot tub was magical, at night when the sky was clear you sit and star gaze in the tub. Location was great, close to the sea and not far to travel in to the Lakes. We spent a lot of time in Coniston, we would highly recommend hiking Old Man of Coniston. The cottage was the perfect base for our week in the Lakes. We will definitely be visiting again in the future.

  • "Gorgeous cottage with attentive but unobtrusive hosts."

Lovely welcome pack with home made treats. Hot tub is an added bonus even with the unpredictable Lakes weather! Had a couple of issues with arrival…signage from main road could be better & key safe was very difficult to open. Owners replaced the key safe promptly after reporting the problem. A great base for exploring the western lakes & the coastal area. Train service good to coastal villages & towns. Good walking straight from cottage but beware busy A road with very fast traffic & no pavement. A great stay for either relaxing or exploring whatever the weather ….thanks.

The gingerbread was to die for. The hot tub was an ideal way to relax and finish off the day. The location was quiet but within easy reach of local attractions such as Ravenglass Railway and Muncaster Castle. Silecroft beach was well worth a visit, especially during the heatwave.

Although we had to drive to visit major attractions and local villages if wishing to eat out, the location was ideal for us. It was peaceful and surrounded by both beautiful coastline and dramatic mountains. The cottage itself was extremely well kept and of very high standard with extra comforts such as under floor heating throughout, a log burner, SMART TV and a jacuzzi. Homemade brownies were left on arrival as well other goodies made on the local farm. The owners were fantastic, being at hand instantly with any issues/questions.

Beautifully appointed cottage with everything you need and more - a real home from home. Close to lovely beaches and great base to explore the wider area. Don’t be put off by having to park on the road - it is only an access road to other homes, not the main road - only 30’ from cottage gate, with plenty of room to park.
