The property

Nestled along a peaceful country lane, some six miles from Kendal and surrounded by rolling countryside, is The Sizzit.

This traditional workers' cottage sits in a row of seven and is just a stone's throw away from St. Patrick's Church on the hill.

Enter through the front door and into a cosy sitting room, where you can kick off your walking boots, light the fire and warm your feet as you catch up on the day's events.

There is a large Smart TV in the corner and plush furnishings making you feel right at home.

The kitchen next door boasts a dining area, tiled flooring and a second woodburning stove tucked into the alcove.

Upstairs are two bedrooms; a double with views to the front and a twin overlooking the back garden, served by an all-white, stylish bathroom.

The back door from the kitchen leads to a multi-level garden with wonderful views over green fields towards the church.

There is even an external building playing host to a WC and washing machine.

The hamlet of Preston Patrick enjoys stunning landscape scenery each way you turn, the nearest shop and pub only a mile away, with excellent walking and cycling from the doorstep.

You have the delights of Hutton Roof Crags Nature Reserve close by, hosting a wealth of unusual wildlife, as well as the town of Kirkby Lonsdale, with its medieval Devil's Bridge and Ruskin's View.

The historic town of Kendal is home to cobbled streets, shops and the stone ruins of Kendal Castle.

Walking and cycling opportunities are in abundance and Morecambe Bay, with its sweeping coastline is within easy reach.

A lovely base to choose for your next holiday in Cumbria.
