  • "This property exceeded all of our expectations!"

We had absolutely everything we needed for the stay and more. Little touches were considered, for example ice, straws, additional blankets and games. The private location was great and was only a 10-minute drive to local supermarkets. I stayed with a group of 8 to celebrate my 24th Birthday and it was perfect. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating and I will definitely be coming back soon. Thank you for having us!

Thank you Shania for the kind review. So pleased you had a great weekend- we made it so that groups of friends and families can have a great time together. Look forward to seeing you again soon. Helen Property Owner

We had everything we needed to enjoy the weekend with no stress and really appreciated the little touches such as the hamper. The property was spotless and had a very warm and cosy feel. Hot tub was great -just a note to bring extra towels for hot tub! Private area but was 10 mins away from supermarkets which was handy, 45 min to Windermere, We had a really great time staying here and would love to return at a later date

  • "We chose this property because it was advertised with everything we were looking for: 4 generously sized bedrooms, all with ensuites; open plan kitchen, dining and living space, meaning we could spend Christmas here and whether you were playing games at the table, cooking in the kitchen, or chilling on the sofa we were all together; and with the bonus of the hot tub, which was enjoyed by all."

The owners Helen and Mark were very helpful and accommodating allowing us early access to the property and ensuring we had everything we needed for our stay. Cannot recommend this property enough. Would happily stay here again.

  • "What a fantastic property, we were blown away when we arrived."

The property has been renovated to the highest specification, and is immaculate throughout. We had 4 adults and 2 children for our trip and there was plenty of space for all of us. There are 4 bedrooms, all en-suite, and all with TV's, which meant we could all go back to our rooms whenever we felt like it. The garden is secure, so we could let the kids play outside without worrying about them escaping, and it also backs onto a a farm field where we could see the sheep running around. The property is equipped with everything you could possibly need, and there are clear instructions on how to use everything. The owners, Helen and Mark were lovely too, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The location was perfect for us too, close to the zoo, the steam train, and not too far from Windemere. Plenty of shops nearby too. We hope to see you again soon Helen and Mark, we will definitely be staying again.

  • "We have just returned from a weekend stay at the Old Stable."

We stayed Friday to Sunday with a group of girlies to celebrate a 50th birthday. We were contacted by Helen before arrival to ensure we had everything we needed and they also allowed us to check in earlier as the rental was ready, which was nice as we could set up some decorations. The rental was well equipped and one of the most equipped rentals I have stayed in. The Old Stable has been renovated to a high standard and excellent quality. Each room has its own bathroom and they have excellent finishes and have little toiletries (great quality products). There are USB ports by the sockets of beds, for charging mobiles, sound bar to play music, the hot tub was ready and great temp, the rental inside and out was immaculate. The kitchen had everything you needed including tea towels, foil, cling film, there wasn't anything we needed. Too much to mention. We also arrived to a Hamper of Wine, Fizz, nuts, biscuits and fugde and fresh roses in a vase. The Old Stable really felt homely and Helen and Mark (who live next door) where lovely and provided additional information about the nearby areas. Loved this place and we will be looking to book again as a family holiday early next year. We all had a fantastic time, even though the weather wasn't too great on the Saturday, it didn't impact or dampen our stay.

Thank you Sarah for your lovely comments. We are just happy that you had a great time, and we look forward to welcoming your family back. Helen Property Owner

  • "WOW!!!"

This is the best property we have ever stayed in. The facilties are 5 star, the beds were very comfortable. The owner has thought of your every need and nothing is too much trouble. Whilst it felt homely, the modern appliances were soooo much better than home, so to have this level of luxury meant it felt a special break. Stayed as two families and because of the en suites, always had our own space and evey bedroom felt like the master bedroom, although the master was stunning!!! It is on main road but due to the electric gates, the garden was completely enclosed ensuring the childrens safety at all times, allowing us to relax. There are two beach areas close by for access to Morecambe Bay. We always drove off as we had small children and walking along road didn't seem the best idea. We felt Barrow had more to offer than Ulverston for kids but also 30 mins from Lake Windermere for a boat trip, mooch around and an ice cream. We would highly recommend this property.

The location was brilliant, it was quiet and peaceful but also not too far away from pubs, the beach and lake Windermere. The property was amazing. Modern decor and rooms, all clean and facilitating. The house was well equipped with appliances such as coffee machines, dishwasher etc and also towels, extra pillows and even shower items. The beds were really comfortable and spacious. Our favourite part of the trip was the hot tub, this is a great addition to the property and was very relaxing. Owners were really accommodating even leaving us some snacks and drinks for our trip. We had an amazing stay and will definitely be back!

The weather wasn’t kind during our stay but that didn’t dampen our mood when we had such a stunning place to stay and enjoy some R and R. The property had the wow factor for us, very clean and everything you need to enjoy a luxury break. We managed a trip to the lakes and conquered the climb to scafell pike during our visit. The owners were on hand to answer any questions and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend the local pub, Farmers, for food. Hope to come back and be able to enjoy the hot tub some more. It’s a beautiful property and truly is a home away from home. Every detail is taken care of, we even discovered a cupboard full of games! The bed linen was absolutely divine, as was the underfloor heating! No expense has been spared on the fixtures, fittings and furniture. We’re already planning on when we can go back. We’ve stayed in lots of similar priced holiday homes and this was the nicest one by far. Great location with the best of both the sea and the Lake District and easy to find and ample parking.
