  • "Spacious house, ample parking and great games room."

Let down by poor finish internally with large holes in bathroom walls where waste pipes pass through and dangling cables in utility room. Poor sealant around shower bases and large water stain above kitchen window. Several issues have been mentioned in visitors book/ feedback but clearly haven't been addressed by owners.

  • "The property was sadly not to the listed standard."

Everything appeared to be a DIY bodge. Beds incredibly uncomfortable - no support at all, springs gone. Dirt & Mould in the showers & sinks. Uncontrollable heating & awful banging noises from it. Hanging exposed electric wires, property would not meet legal requirements. We paid more to stay in a luxury property, and this property was very disappointing and not as listed. Feedback provided to Sykes, who refuse to assist as we gave feedback on the departure of our stay and not during the stay. We won’t be using Sykes again. I submit this review without agreeing to terms policy as the link does not work to read them!

  • "Fantastic property in an ideal location."

Great for walking into Ingleton and exploring all that the local area has to offer. The property is spacious, clean and well-maintained. The garage and annexe converted to games rooms is a fantastic idea, only suggestion is that a couple of pool cues are replaced and more glasses are provided but faultless otherwise. Really enjoyed our stay.

  • "A new property, very clean and spacious."

As other people have said basically it's fine but lacks finish. No towel rail or shelf in showers for soap etc. Basic kitchen utensils. Huge holes in walls where pipes go out. Musty smell in games room and bathrooms. Right beside the very busy A65 making it noisy night and day - if you have bedroom windows open. Location wise excellent. Within a 20 minute walk of numerous, good eateries. Beautiful walks from doorstep. Co-Op minutes away. We were 2 couples and layout suited us.

  • "Absolutely amazing views!"

The games room amazing although could do with some cue ends on cues and some new flights and stems for darts however totally playable and needed to blame something when my kids kept beating me! Other than that we had teenagers would have been nice for locks on toilets and bathroom doors and we needed a measuring jug for kitchen have to have gravy with my dinner! So much space lots if nice walks fantastic bakery in village On a personal note I would have liked a little welcome basket (bread milk and butter) just so the first thing we didn't have to do is shop although only 5 mins walk to Co-op and to be honest would have paid more for our stay Had in previous and just adds a little something special However you want an amazing stat with fantastic views and in a lovely quiet location this is for you and if you have groups there are several properties.next to each other Would definitely visit again Ps take a trio to Morecombe will there you won't regret it

Games room enjoyed by all. Plenty of parking spaces. Lovely views. Would return. Main bathroom shower was leaking, this had been mentioned in previous reviews. Both shower trays needed cleaning around the edges. Sieve needed in kitchen.

  • "Lovely place to stay."

Ideal location for exploring and walking. Views are great. The games room was a huge added bonus and great for kids and adults if all ages. Would highly recommend. Could do with some towel rails and shelving in bathrooms to help dry towels, but this comment is only to improve and certainly did not detract from our wonderful family holiday!

  • "Pros: The property is in a great location to explore the Dales."

The games room is great (our two teenage kids had lots of fun in there) There is a nice big bath in the bathroom which was great after our long walk on the Saturday. The view of Ingleborough from the front bedroom is lovely. Cons: A few items could be added/changed to make the property a bit more guest friendly; more mirrors around the house, there is only one decent one in the main bathroom. The large mirror in the master bedroom looks like it was taken from a fun house!! Some instructions on how to use the numerous thermostats around the house. We couldn't turn the heating down so it was very warm and it was so wasteful to have the heating on and windows open. The fridge/freezer is far too small for a house for 6 people. One last comment I would say is read your guest book - some people have made comments over 6 months ago about improvements or general maintenance that still don't seem to have been actioned (ie leaking shower trays). This has the potential to be a wonderful property, just listen to your guests!!

  • "Just returned from a short break stay at Bazadaise near Ingleton."

A great few days walking, and we had been able to request a few items to be made available during out stay - a couple of buckets and a clothes airer (as there is nowhere to dry wet clothes in the property. We also asked for the central heating to be checked and fully working, as the last time we had stayed (end March 2023), we had to request urgent help, because it just wasn't working and we were very cold. However, all was well for this stay. Could do with a larger fridge, it was fine for us two, but definitely totally inadequate for a family of 6 staying for a week! The two beds weren't that comfortable - the mattresses felt quite cheap and over-soft, but it was only a 3 night stay, so we put up with them. Cooking facilities great, plenty of cookware, although the cupboards could do with some small bowls for putting food in - as there were none. Bathroom facilities very good, provision of towels (we had asked for extras) wasn't great, but adequate for 3 nights! But we had a great stay and would definitely return.

  • "1. we had some issues with the central heating for the first 2 days of our stay and had to call your emergency line to get it fixed."

fortunately, the owner was able to come out and fix it, but it didn't stay on, and we needed him again - luckily, we spotted him outside the property on the second day of the heating failure, and he was able to come in and fix it. 2.Insufficient towels were provided for two people for a week - we were only provided with 2 small towels each (probably suitable for midgets) for two people for a week's stay - we contacted yourselves and the owner provided us with some larger ones. But the ones he had left initially were totally insufficient. 3. We think that there should be some kind of blind at the front door to the property - anybody can look right in and see what's in the house. 4. All external doors are very stiff (not least the one at the back of the house to the patio) and very unwieldy - very difficult for elderly folk with arthriticky hands! 5. Please can a large milk jug be provided, as well as some more bowls for cooking - there were only very large roasting dishes, need some much smaller bowls (including oven-proof bowls) please. 6. The fridge/freezer isn't big enough for 6 people self-catering for a week! 7. No wall cupboards in the kitchen at all - had to keep bending down to the lower cupboards to get things like crockery, etc. 8. please can the owner provide 2 buckets in the property - we needed them for cleaning muddy boots, and had to ask the owner to give us two. We don't know if he took them away after our stay. 9. Please provide a large clothes airer - there is absolutely no space for drying wet clothes (e.g. sports gear, walking clothes). 10. Please provide a loo brush for the upstairs loo (the en suite loo). 11. Why is there a silver coloured "tether" on the hose to the shower in the big bathroom - it was a nightmare to handle the hose and showerhead whilst showering. 12. The shower in the ensuite would not stay still whilst showering. Took us ages to work out how to fix it. 13. Please provide grab rails in both showers - both shower trays are very slippery when wet. 14. Please provide a large washing basket for wet washing. There was none at the property, so it was difficult to manually move washing around. 15. please provide a better grater in the kitchen utensil drawer - the one provided is very flimsy and almost broke when i was grating some cheese. 16. Please provide a whisk - there was none provided. 17. Unimpressed with the fixing to the shower in the large bathroom - it looked as though it was just glued on - very unsightly and messy, poor workmanship! 18. Perhaps a light under the stairwell, over the little desk in the hallway, please - there is a light, but it doesn't really reach very well to that little desk. 19. Absolutely nowhere to dry wet clothes - we had wet clothes strewn all over the property - it was great having the tiny utility room, but there was just nowhere to dry wet weather gear (boots, waterproof jackets, etc) so we found this quite frustrating. But we had a great week's walking in the local area and would definitely come back to the area again.

This property is a lovely holiday home excellent for our two teenage grandchildren as the games room kept then entertained in the evenings, Ingleton waterfall trail a challenge for us grandparents but one that is nevertheless enjoyable, lovely fish and chips at the end, wheatsheaf hotel do an excellent meal and there are plenty of other places we did not have time to try, the owners are very nice and the village is worth a walk round with plenty of friendly and helpful people

The property is an ideal location for the Dales, the Lake District, and the Settle to Carlisle railway is only 15 minutes away. one minor point was the tog rating on the quilts were 10.5 and 13,5 which we found were too warm for us at this time of the year, would be more than happy to return to this property in the future

  • "The property was spacious and furnished comfortably."

Facilities were great, the games room being a real bonus. We did miss a strainer in the kitchen for pasta and vegetables. The en-suite door did not shut which did create some difficulties. The downstairs was warm and we had the fire in the lounge for cold evenings and we had a few of those but upstairs the heating didn’t come on at all, despite turning the radiators on. Consequently bathing and showering was a very chilly experience, not pleasant. Just an hour of heating in the morning would have made a big difference.

Very clean and well presented. Good value at the price paid. Well equipped kitchen. Broadband tended to buffer a little on Netflix etc but for a rural area I expected this and was only minor interruption. Thoroughly enjoyed the Table Tennis, Pool table & darts (new cue chalk needed soon & a couple of new ping pong balls) Enjoyed the powerful jet in the shower! Overall this is a great property.

Just missing table mats, oven gloves and soap for the washbasins. Also an information/welcome pack would have been good to include the boiler and thermostats (house was very hot and had to open windows) Would definitely go back again

Thanks for your feedback! We have taken onboard your feedback and made some improvements and additions to the property. The underfloor heating is thermostat controlled but you can turn radiators on and off. We hope to see you again, the owners. Property Owner
