  • "Had a very good short break at Sunny Hill despite the weather."

Cosy cottage ideal to chill out in front of log burner fire. All you need for a short break is in place and hosts very friendly should need anything. Good selection of restaurants and pubs within a 5/6 mile range with local pub 10 minute walk although it's on country road. All in all no complaints and would certainly make a return visit.

  • "Sunny Hill was a lovely holiday home and well equipped with kitchen equipment as we like to cook a lot of our own food."

Great outside space for our little dog Jess to explore. Neil and Michelle where on hand if we needed anything and we enjoyed the bottle of wine and local brownies they left us as a little welcome gift. Plenty of wood on hand for the log burner which was lovely. Even without the log burner the cottage was quite warm as the radiators hear up very quickly too! Great location and only 45 minutes from Windamere, Bowness, Ambleside and Keswick. The local Co-op 10 minute drive away was well stocked and handy for bits and bobs! Overall a great stay despite the very wet weather but that didn't dampen anything!!

Neil asked if we had any problems when we departed, saying if guests don't tell us we don't know. We mentioned a light bulb in the cooker hood and he fixed it. Would recommend this cottage.

We shall definitely stay again and have no hesitation in recommending Sunny Hill to our friends and family.

The cottage is absolutely lovely, very comfortable and includes everything you could possibly need. The very friendly owner was reassuringly on hand should we have needed anything but thankfully we didn’t. The beautiful garden was the star of the show for us and weather permitting, is a real treat with a lovely area to sit outside. Would highly recommend.

Warm welcome from the owners. Log burner laid ready to light and cake and wine to enjoy! Often cottage owners say there will be logs available and you arrive after a long journey to find this isn’t the case. Sunnyhill created instant relaxation and peace. We really enjoyed watching the birds in snow, mist, rain and sunshine so feel this would be an ideal cottage stay in any season.

Immaculate, it was well equipped and even had plenty of games and books to choose from. As soon as we pulled up to the cottage, we knew we had booked the right place. The place was every bit as good as it looked on the website. Spotlessly clean inside, with a fully equipped open plan kitchen (even a slow cooker - which we did use). Plenty of cutlery and crockery and glasses of various types. Stocked Tea, Coffee and Sugar and even a separate coffee machine with coffee pouches.. A fantastic touch was a lovely Lemon Cake and a bottle of Wine , which we enjoyed immensely! The bedrooms were nicely decorated and beds comfy. The garden was fantastic, unfortunately the weather didn't give us much chance to use it, but in summer, it would be a fantastic place just to sit back and chill. I can't recommend this place highly enough and would be more than happy to recommend it to anybody. We will definitely be back!

I think what is most outstanding is the quality of the finish and the cleanliness of the accommodation. It’s so frustrating that some dog friendly holiday homes are below standard and it was such a relief to find that Sunny Hill was spotless particularly as our holiday was doubling up as a Honeymoon!! The owners are extremely approachable and friendly and made us feel really welcome. The quality of the fixtures and fittings is high here and everything you could possibly need has been provided. We intend to recommend Sunny Hill to all our friends but moreover have every intention of re booking on the future.

  • "O wow! The words amazing, fantastic and perfect don't do this beautiful little cottage justice."

I knew from the moment we arrived that this was a special place. It's situated in the quietest of loations and has amazing views. And as soon as we opened the front door, we knew we'd found a real gem. You walk into a lovely "cottagy" open plan kitchen, diner and living room which has patio doors that open up into the large garden area. We sat out in the garden and all we could hear were the birds and sheep. Bliss!! The 2 bedrooms are a good size with ample wardrobe room for all your bits and pieces. And there is a lovely en-suite with double shower and main bathroom with a bath. But you know what made this visit super special? The owners, Neil and Michelle. They thought of everything and more. I'd let them know it was my husband's big birthday, and they'd bought him a cake, a bottle of prosecco chilling in the fridge and sprinkled confetti on the dining room table where they placed the balloons I'd had delivered to their house. How lovely is that? They came to check we were ok once we had settled in and were on hand to give suggestions on where to go and what to do. And we met their lovely dogs who were just beautiful. This was our first time staying in a cottage, we normally stay in hotels or B&Bs. I have to say, I'm a convert. We have been truly spoilt on our first cottage stay. We will definitely be back!
