  • "Perfect holiday stay for us who were looking for a base for visiting and walking with our 3 dogs in the surrounding areas."

This time of year the park facilities were closed for the week which was very quiet and then opened for February half term. Sunflowers was a welcoming warm space with all that was required for a very comfortable stay with plenty of space and even a small beach and nearby flat walk for the dogs.

  • "What a lovely home from home place to stay, hosts communicate well and contactable if there any issues."

A nice welcome pack with treats for the dogs as well. A really comfy home with lots of little extras, lots to do in surrounding areas. If you had to stay in with bad weather, there would be lots to do on site when fully open and there is a large choice of DVD's, books and games in the lounge. A great green area for the dogs and lots of walks near by. An excellent stay and would highly recommend.

  • "Had a lovely week staying at Sunflowers."

A welcome pack was waiting for us which surpassed expectations as its contents weren’t the usual biscuit offering (which seems to be the norm) & it was very much appreciated. The caravan was spotless & had everything we needed for the week. The beds were super comfortable; so much so that I contacted the owner to ask what make they were. View from the kitchen area made washing up a pleasure. All in all a fabulous week which included some lovely weather.

The caravan had everything you needed. Clean and very comfortable beds. The area exceeded our expectations and the views were incredible. Only one thing to add for feedback but did not detract from a superb holiday was the master bedroom’s curtains are too thin so let lots of light in.

Hi thanks for the feedback, we have added a blackout lining to the curtains in the master bedroom this weekend Property Owner

As usual we really enjoyed our holday, the only thing and this is not a fault but a suggestion you could advise where to dry out the shower towels (which I would say were the best i have ever used, in fact I went and bought two of them)

Hi, many thanks for the lovely feedback, re the towels that is a good point as with the caravan doors we have been very reluctant to drill into them to fits door hooks and the sticky door hooks have just kept falling off in the past. We appreciate the hanging of wet towels on the edge of a door isnt ideal, so we will definitely try and find a new solution so we can put hooks on some of the doors. Many thanks. Property Owner

  • "Some nights it was quite cold and I couldn’t find any instructions for the central heating so we ended up having the electric heater on which didn’t warm the bedrooms or bathroom."

On previous reviews a welcome pack was mentioned more than once but none were left for us. Main bedroom lacked blackout curtains so woken up by sunlight very early. Washing machine was in the description when it should have been laundrette.

We are very disappointed with this review - but since you told both owners separately you had tried to complain to sykes before you even arrived at the property, sadly we are not surprised. The description we feel is accurate and you spoke to both owners before your arrival where we clearly explained the washing machine which is listed as a feature and not in the property description (just like the pool) was not inside the property but onsite a mere minutes walk away from the property. Instructions on how to use the heating are very clearly described in our information book, as are both contact numbers for the owners and we would have happily talked you through or come to sunflowers to show you how the heating worked, but you never contacted us during your stay to highlight you had an issue with the heating. Sadly you cant please everyone. Property Owner

Hi, Thankyou for your lovely feedback, we are really happy you enjoyed your stay at sunflowers, and you're all welcome back anytime. we do work hard to make our caravan more comfortable and welcoming than a typical caravan with standalone sofas, extras in the property and extra blankets in the living room so we are really happy it was enjoyed. • "Apart from the owner attempting to get us to leave the property far to early the day as well as wanting to arrive in the dark at the start of the hol which we successfully challenged I have no complaints at all."

A good hol, very nice accommodation.

Thankyou for the lovely review you left in our property. We are really sorry to read the above but the issue you had with being told a change in arrival time and departure time was 100% not the owner but sykes customer service and when we found out by sykes they had given you wrong information we called you straight away and said the original information we had supplied of arrival and departure time was correct for your booking. You then explained you'd like to arrive before 3 so it definitely wouldn't be dark which we were happy to accomodate with a 1pm checkin. We also offered you a late checkout past our normal 10am checkout and you declined, so we are very confused as to why you thought we had tried to ask you to exit early. Property Owner

  • "The caravan it self is nice, one the thing they don't tell you is how close to a nuclear power station you are, with a low hum all night, when I went in October there was no swimming pool and they stopped serving food at 6, i would take your own bedding as the one on the bed isn't over nice."

Booked the caravan for the week but only stayed init for 4 nights,

Re your feedback, 6 months after your stay you have decided to leave this review remembering so much about your stay in detail. However, despite your comments about our caravan, you failed to mention you left the caravan in a disgusting mess, including white powder all over the floor and surfaces of the bathroom, and would not be welcome back as a guest. We strongly disagree with your comment about the bedding, as do all our other guests who have stayed and left comments on here and in our guestbook as to how lovely and good quality our bedding is. We dont hide our location at all and openly say we are at ocean edge holiday park; and the hum you said you can heard came from the heysham port and a ferryboat in port. And finally you must be remembering a different property as you did not leave after four nights because it was clearly evident to our cleaner, who 6 months on still remembers the huge mess you left, that you had left that morning. • "Cosy pet-friendly caravan."

We loved our little break here with our dogs, lovely walks nearby. The caravan was clean and fully equipped with fairy liquid, oil, tea towels etc but also games, dvd's, books which was a lovely touch. You can tell they care about the guest experience. The site has a restaurant, kids play areas etc, we didn't go to these though. I'll definitely be coming back and couldn't recommend it enough. The pub and restaurants are a drive away which was probably the only down fall but we didn't mind.

Thank you so much for your feedback. It is really appreciated. The on-site pub and restaurant is through the reception at the entrance barrier on site. This is only a walk away from the caravan. Kind regards, Jo (owner). Property Owner

It was more spacious than it looks in the photos and had everything we needed plus lots of little extras, even for the dog. It was very clean and comfortable, the bed was amazing. The Wifi was a bonus as we hadn't expected it. The sea was only a minutes walk away and there were plenty of short walks in the area for an early morning dog walk. The decked area caught the sun in the afternoon and it was lovely to sit out when we came back from a day out. We had a lovely week although the weather wasn't great.
